Thanks a million for all the positive feedback guys. This place is the best. For those who are interested... Everybody's On The Run - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds I've synced the demo version (taken from "Faster Than The Speed Of Magic") with the isolated Choir/Strings track of the album version (taken from noelgallagher.com). I slowed the tempo of the Choir/Strings track to match that of the demo. This change was appx 85 bpm to 77 bpm. It is pretty obvious that Noel recorded the demo without a click track so the tempo is inconsistant. There are several short edits throughout the song, though they should be unnoticable. Some spots may still sound a bit shakey. The demo version is 2 bars short in the lead up to the first verse. I duplicated a bar from the demo version so that the build up could remain in tact. Brilliant job. What program did you use? Logic Pro?

Great job. I quickly lost patience with it because I was having to almost break down the strings track into each bar and chance the tempo to match that particular few seconds to try and get it perfect. Needless to say about an hour into it I decided to sack it. Great work!!

Great job. I quickly lost patience with it because I was having to almost break down the strings track into each bar and chance the tempo to match that particular few seconds to try and get it perfect. Needless to say about an hour into it I decided to sack it. Great work!! That's pretty much what I ended up doing, particularly toward the end where the demo version picks up a bit in terms of tempo. I forgot to mention that I used the choir/strings track along side the album version. So I basically made it as if I was combining the actual album version with the demo version. The percussion made it very easy to keep time whereas the choir/strings track on its own sounds very free and can be hard to keep time with. Even with the choir/strings track muted I knew that as long as I made the exact same cuts as I did with the album version it would line up properly. Hopefully that makes sense because that's what really saved my ass. Made it a thousand times easier.
