I think, just like any other "new" bands, their second album will be the tough one for the band. Therefore I'm glad that they're taking more time to work on it. Bring us some great surprise with quality songs, lads. We're ready for it. The only issue I have here is that even with more time Liam and Co. are not capable of doing something "surprising". There are what they are, and that ill never change. I'm excited for more music, but not overly concerned with if it will be great or not.

I haven't put on DGSS in about a year. FLW is pretty good its got some attitude and its not a rehash of old rock n roll ideas such as Beatles & Stones or cliche like, TBWGO, Kill for a Dream, which are both some of the worst songs that can be related to either Gallagher. Seriously awful songs, worse than ICSAL and PYMWYMI. The Roller, For Anyone, Bring the Light and Wigwam are eh. Three Ring Circus is decent. The Morning Son is good. Wind Up Dream, Millionaire, and the rest are pretty forgettable and below average songs.
DSSG is a pretty forgettable album in my opinion. I understand it was the sound of a band trying to find their feet but it really did sound like a bunch of 2 rate songwriters who occasionally struck something good. Andy, Gem and Liam's problem main is consistency and originality with regard to their songwriting. Liam's voice is still great and he can make an average song sound a bit better but I want Beady Eye to release something that's good and I hope that they have that in them, there has been flashes but its time to turn on light and shut down the 60's/70's cover band act.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel as long as its good and I think they made a pretty good fist of it. I'm not a big fan of either KFAD or TBGO but they are no worse than what you mentioned, when the best you can say of PYMWYMI is that its most likable parts are lifted wholesale from something else you're in trouble. I have no problem delving into the past for inspiration, Bring The Light is ripped straight from rollicking 50's rock n roll but it sounds very much like Beady Eye. You don't often here piano driven rock n roll these days, the roots of it may be old but it was like a breath of fresh air for me. Just finished listening to Bob's new album and its frankly excellent, its nothing new of course, still swampy blues with folk and country elements dragged from the 20's, 30's and 40's but it works because the songs and lyrics are good. If you don't like the songs though, you don't and thats that.

Don't get the 'poorly produced' stuff. If you don't like the production fair enough but I can hear the instruments, vocals and effects loud and clear. Its what people on here say when they don't know how to use constructive criticism. I stopped paying any attention to it ages ago.
