apparently all above posts have tomlivesforever's approval since he hasn't whined about any non-glowing comments or unapologetically defended BDI. and that's all that really matters. i'm Let It Bleed and i approve my message. Thanks for the mention! Its good to have a fan. you have to promise not to leave, you entertain me. and i'll do my best to keep all negative comments out of the BDI section to appease you. God bless.

I really hope to hear more like World Outside My Room. Definitely one of their best and one of the best post-Oasis tracks IMO. It really showcases what they are capable of and totally takes you by surprise. It would have been a great track to premiere after BTL.

Yep, that song was the real (and only) suprise really. I recently went back to the record after a long while, and frankly, it didn't really move me.
Some songs are good, but the production is just piss poor. They have to adopt a more natural song, just like the one on World Outside My Room. Just do that raw record Liam's been talking about for 10 years.

It doesn't have an album feel to it DGSS imo - Four Letter Word is a tune, The Roller is good, I actually enjoy Millionaire, I like some of the slower more mid pace stuff, Wig Wam, Beat Goes On, Kill For A Dream I like all those. Beatles and Stones and Bring The Light sound like they were written by a 11 year old though. No construction between vocals and instruments.

I don't really get what you are saying.

I dont mind different songwriters really. If you take Oasis, it worked on HC, it was a bit meh on DBTT and worked again on DOYS. The real problem here is to give the band an identity, that they clearly haven't found on DGSS. It was more a best of than a cohesive album. Songs from different eras put together next to each other without any cohesion.

I'd love a Kasabian vibe worked into their next album. They need a little more modern sound, less 60s.

I don't really get what you are saying. The point is, DGSS doesn't work as an album because it's written by three different people. Not saying that it can't work well like that, but in the case of BDI it didn't. DGSS is just a random collection of average songs, written by three average songwriters. Nothing more, nothing less.

IMO I should say again for good measure lest anyone mistakes my thoughts for fact.

Well I suppose its a matter of opinion, I think it works pretty well but for a few duds. One thing I don't get on here is people saying they hope they take more time with this one. There's not really link between how much time you take and how good the songs are. You either have the tunes or you don't.

If they don't rush it gives them a chance to make more good song than to rush to do the album and put filler on it. Also a sonf can be improved, a chorus changed... It can't if you rush to do it.

Just because a song is recorded quickly doesn't mean its rushed. I'm not talking about rushing. If the creative process is spontaneous and goes quickly then good things can come out of it. A song can also be made worse by excessive tinkering.

Amazingly, I agree with tomlivesforever on this one. Spending longer on album doesn't mean it will be better (I'm looking at you Chinese Democracy). The fact is, average multiplied by anything is still average. 10 average songs, or 100 average songs...the album will still be average.
