The La's kick the shit out of anything Nirvana, Pixies, or Pavement ever released. There, I quoted it. nope not even close. Not only do those bands actually have more than 1 album but most of their catalogs are filled with outstanding work. Forget Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, hell even the Sopranos the greatest television show is The Wire. I know I'm a decade late on this but I finished it a month ago and I'm still reflecting on just how amazing the show was. Season 3-4 is the best season run of a show that I've ever seen. Season 4 is probably my all time favorite season of television. Season 1 is really good as well. Season 2 and 5 are a bit messy in places, but merit a watch. The show was clearly ahead of its time and I've never seen a television show so detailed, realistic, and aware of itself. It is the most emotionally authentic show I've ever seen. Other shows may have better cinematography (Breaking Bad) and be more thrilling (Game of Thrones), but no show has ever gripped me like The Wire does. An outstanding cast of characters Omar, Bunk, Stringer Bell, McNutly, Bubbles, etc. Honestly after I've watched it, I've had to lower my expectations for other shows. A lot of other shows just kinda come across as forgettable entertainment after watching it. I feel like I came out of the show smarter and more aware of what people actually go through in this country. I think you need to remember a certain characther who made that same statement, he was gone with the wind

I don't care for The Girl With X-Ray Eyes... I think it stops the album dead. Skip almost every time.

The Right Stuff is one of THE worst songs Noel has ever recorded! Beady Eye have done at least an albums worth of songs better!
Also, Do The Damage is better live than the recorded version could ever be AND Little James + Better Man are better than it

The Marving Gatye/Robin Thicke suit did something I couldn't believe, it one upped the Verve/Rollling Stones one, ridicoulous that just comparing the score of the songs(not actually hearing them) the judge rulled in favour of MG state, what's next QOTSA suing Noel Gallagher bacuse of the mexican?

Estates are always going to be chasing money whenever they can, heh. If MG was still with us, he'd probably not care.

I was raised a Jehovah's Witness but haven't been since I was 16 (37 now.)
I'm about 99.9% atheist today.
I can't tell my mom as it would crush her.

Number 1 - I've just read through all 48 pages. I don't like Led Zeppelin - Robert Plant's voice puts me right off. I am an atheist although that isn't seen as shocking over here in stark contrast to the USA. I have a huge bias towards British bands, particularly from the north of England. Unlike many of you, I couldn't wait for school to finish. By the end so many people had just turned into complete wankers. Not that I'm bitter or anything. One thing that really annoys me is that my school leaving ball was the same night as the Stone Roses at Glasgow Green. I felt I should to go the leaving ball because everyone built it up as a momentous occasion and all the parents were meant to go as well. My parents and I agree that it was one of the most boring nights any of us had ever experienced. I'm sure I'll think of some more as well. I'm the same where points 3 and 4 are concerned, and my 'prom' thing was fucking dire as well. Colossal waste of time, and kind of sad to see the lads you'd mucked about with for a few years, reduced to embarrassing knob-heads, desperately trying to lose their virginities... I'm afraid however, I must take offence to the not liking Led Zep comment... His wailing in 'Kashmir' is breathtaking

Eco Terrorists in New Zealand, fuck off. Seriously, do any of you have babies and cannot breastfeed? You're threatening yourselves too with that letter.

When I joined I wanted to be this mysterious person who only posted cryptic and interesting stuff, but it quickly wore off and became tiring. There, said it. You still don't know my name, nationality or gender though, so I guess I'm still partially succeeding.

I know your name... That's great, Jacob. I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains I've walked and I've crawled on six crooked highways I've stepped in the middle of seven sad forests I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin' I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin' I saw a white ladder all covered with water I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children I heard the sound of a thunder that roared out a warnin' Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world Heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazin' Heard ten thousand whisperin' and nobody listenin' Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin' Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter I met a young child beside a dead pony I met a white man who walked a black dog I met a young woman whose body was burning I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow I met one man who was wounded in love I met another man who was wounded with hatred... But I've never heard anybody call me Jacob before.
