I'd listen to Kermit Liam above any Idolist any day of the week. He's earned his success and the deterioration of his voice humanizes him much more than the plastic, autotuned pop shit the world has come to love. History repeats itself...seems like we're stuck in the sticky late eighties again music wise. Indeed. One has to wonder why Jessie J was sent out so many times. She's a c-list celebrity at best and is hardly known outside of the UK. THIS. Anyone else hate Jessie J? She got an allright voice but I can't stand that high pitched squeal she often does and she COULDN'T get anywhere near to Freddie's vocal on we will rock you

Jessie J was embarrassing playing with that vagina Brian May. Although, I suppose she's better than an American Idol contestant?

in my uni lecture, reading this in Australia - what an awesome forum. I've gotta wait another 12 hours to watch the repeat on telly. looked at the daily mail pic of Liam, looks fantastic! trim and tidy, and how awesome is it that Gem and Chris, two of my favourite musicians ever, get to play to a billion people. Brilliant.

1) Liam's voice was a bit nasally but good, I think. 2) I don't know why, but it sounded like something's missing. 3) I missed Noel's backing vocals.

The melody seemed a bit more brighter in this version. The mellotron creates a very somber sound. I think the strings should have been upped just a tad bit more in the mix. Also this version sounded a bit empty.

It really missed another acoustic guitar. Like how they did it in Maine road.

Brilliant. Yeah this forums been good tonight, going from 6 pages to 21 pages in a couple of hours. Good for gem and chris as well, they deserve it because they are great, a lot of people know of Liam Gallagher and now gem and the rest have had their moment in the spotlight as well. Liam looked cool as you said as well

they were pretty ok. and if you consider the massive cringe worthy moments that were Russell Brand and Jessie J butchering anthems like I am the Walrus and We Will Rock You, Beady Eye was the highlight of the night.

I tried mixing the audio to get better sound from the guitars and strings. And just the overall performance since I found it kind of flat. I can't really tell if it's better or worse, I'm way to tired right now... Maybe shit, maybe not.
Anyway, here we go:

He nailed it tbh. It isn't his finest vocal but then again it isn't 1995. Thought it was a thoroughly solid performance. So well done to them.

That to me sounds better than how it was mixed tonight. Especially with the electric guitars higher in the mix.
The mix at the ceremony seemed really quiet and flat, if that's how it sounded to Liam too then it probably affected him...it seemed like quite a tense performance.
I still think he did a good job, they all did so fair play to them. And despite a lot of negativity, I'm sure with the volume of people watching this has been great exposure for them ready for album 2.

Liam sounded fine, and he looked as cool as ever. But it just felt wrong without Noel

Yep pretty happy they played it. And it sounded great. Really happy they went with an actual string section for this.
