The whole comparison understandably became a joke with I'm Outta Time, along with the other shite Beatles rip offs (To Be Where There's Life and Nature of Reality) from Dig Out Your Soul. To Be Where There's Life is a Velvet Underground rip off.you should know your music history or just shut the fuck up, you ignorant twat I forgot about that, the live version sound more like it though

Hello guys, didnt read it to the end, so i dont know, if you stopped that silly argument, which songs by LAG are gay and which are plain stupid (for me, they penned some pretty good ones, but they are million miles away from noel - as anyone alse, in the quantity, thats pretty obvious, so whats the point?), but back to Lennon - THIS IS OASIS FANBASE, so - is there anyone, who thinks Liam is better than John? If so, tell the reason why! This could be interesting. For me, not that it means anything and that anyone is interested, but for me Liam is better singer, love his voice (i actually have only two voices on the piedestal with him - Cobain and Lanegan, for the fucking spirit in it, all the others - Mercury, Plant, Staley, Vedder, Ozzy, they had something, but are not on par with the first three, just for me). On the other hand, John was the man - songwriter God, even better in fronting the band and creating the buzz - remember, to say in the 60s "we are bigger than jesus" is much more of a catchphrase than "you know what i mean, coldplay are dido with dicks". John is for me the biggest who ever was, in music (the king elvis is not doing it for me...). so huge intercultural impact, he even had the Wall, here in Prague, czech republic, where people came in the deep communism era, to light a candle or draw a little portrait of him on the wall. John forever, no one will ever be as big.

I think Liam's better at fronting a band hes a natural frontman but as to who's voice is better, in their primes it's very hard to say, I think Lennon has the edge though tbh I can't see where the similarities are between the voices of Liam in his prime and Lennon. Liam sounds more like him now on beady eye because some of the music sounds like a sixties wanabe band but take his vocal on four letter word, a song that made for Liam, that doesn't sound like Lennon IMO. Certainly Liam will never be as big anywhere as big as Lennon because he's too much of a controversial figure, the most controversial thing Lennon said in the Beatles was that he believe the Beatles meant more to the average person than god and he was probably right tbh

John Lennon was very politically active i.e. protested the Vietnam War, supported liberal movements and was nearly deported from the u.s.a. very controversial things. all Liam really does controversially is insult someone once in a while and what he says is normally true. God bless.

Liam's an amazing frontman but John Lennon was a hero.
Even Liam wouldn't say he's a better frontman than Lennon.

Are you serious?

Even Liam wouldn't say he's a better frontman than Lennon. Of a live band I think Liam is a better frontman because the Beatles only toured for 4 years whereas Liam's been touring for more than a decade and when the Beatles were touring they were more of a democracy than at the end, a lot of harmonies and duets, there was no real frontman to that band though Lennon was probably most people's favourites because as you said Lennon was a hero

There is no comparison. Lennon was/is a hero, Liam is a utter twat
The only similarity between them is that they both led to the downfalls of their bands

To be honest guys I understand the following and massive importance the Beatles have on music in general. Music is just opinionated and yes it is a 100% fact that the Beatles are the most popular abd probably biggest band ever but to me as a 21 year old guy working a job and living in south Florida I just can't relate to the Beatles at all. I like the Beatles I even bought three of their albums via iTunes but they just don't wake me up inside Like Oasis does. I listen to bands like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The libertines, the black keys, The Strokes, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Market Karma, Hanni El Khatib and Dark horses but even to these bands I just don't relate to them like I do Oasis. I love the Gallaghers and co. No matter how big Hey Jude, A day in the life and Come together to me they're just not in the same league thats not in the same dimension which isn't occupying the same space and time of the same universe where Oasis is. The Masterplan is a beautiful sermon delivered by Noel, Hung in a bad place is a cigar burner when your having a few beers and smoking with your boys, The nature of reality sounds like a fucking phydrlic marching band stomping over head while Songbird flaps it's wings and pulls a hurricane of melody and happiness behind it. When it comes to John Lennon vs Liam Gallagher just go with the guy you prefer. I Like John Lennon but to me he is no Liam Gallagher. it's all just preference just like how one of my best friends lick the ground that U2, Radiohead and Thom Yorke walk on.

It was the equivalent of Noel saying I hope Damon dies of AIDS. It was just something that you didn't say. And for that, The Beatles took a big hit to their image. Sure their true fans remained their fans, but it did take a bit of time for them to regain the goodwill that they had lost. We tend to forget that because we see the Beatles as the Beatles. The realized form of what they became. But talk to anyone, especially in America during that time, what Lennon said did cause people to hate the Beatles.

I suggest you look into their last tour (1966) to see how a lot of the world was offended (unintentionally) by The Beatles. I don't think there were ever mass public burnings of Oasis records.
