It seems likely to me that Gem has told Noel in one form or another that Beady Eye are playing Oasis songs and asked him which ones he'd prefer them to do.
And i think Noel would turn round and recommend the two they performed at Warrington and Heaton Park. And i do remember Noel saying in an interview he cant do the likes of Rock N Roll star and he expects they will be played by Beady Eye.
To me, it's a far more plausible scenario than Liam and co picking the 2 songs and Noel arrogantly responding with comments about Royalties (which i believe was simply a tongue in cheek quote made months ago on an American Radio station that Smart Arse out the Sun decided to regurgitate because of his cringeworthy obsession with kissing Noel's arse and attacking Liam).

i really doubt Noel was consulted about what Oasis songs BDI should perform.
God bless.

No way would Gem have asked Noel what they should play. And if he did no way would that have carried any weight with the rest of BDI. Not his place at all...even if you subscribe to the theory that the Oasis split is orchestrated. Personally I think that if Noel had suggested 2 songs those 2 would be the last 2 BDI would play out of spite. I think that Rock 'n' Roll Star was an obvious choice. It's the song that most epitomizes Liam Gallagher. That is why both BDI and Noel probably thought of that one. I think if Noel had been actually asked the other one he would have recommended would have been Cigarettes and Alcohol not Morning Glory though. RnRS and C&A were the two most common songs Noel would mention that he would never even consider singing. The royalty comment doesn't really have any bearing. I have no doubt that Noel would say it again tomorrow although it very well might be a quote culled from when he was discussing Liam touring WTSMG in 2015 as you suggest.

Noel said that he doesn't mind (we know he likes the monies) and Beady Eye are taking up the option. But I doubt anyone consulted Noel. I want to know who is actually signing the PRS forms... Andy Bell maybe?

I doubt there was any consultation whatsoever, I doubt anyone said anything to Macca when they were doing 'I am The Walrus'. I wouldn't of thought Noel collects anything more than beer money anyway.

I wonder. The guy with connects said that 10 songs halfway down on the bill of a festival tent would mean around 500. He might make a bit of money off the festival slots. It's apparently weighted against how many people theoretically heard the tune. BDI will be higher than that on the bill than halfway up a bill on a festival tent. You're probably right about the average BDI solo gig though. Doubt it's much more than pocket money per gig.

Completely agree about the sun but that's largely down to Gordon Smart who loves taking little snipes at Liam & loves kissing Noel's arse

"do not follow the blind" Hmm...loose translation of don't listen to people that have no idea, or something?

Hopefully they are getting more than pocket change. :s They get a portion of the door. They are playing probably 15 of their own songs. They get the merchandise.
