Wonderwall is probably cliche since it's probably been used countless times. The problem is some songs would be perfect but not danceable, ie Idler's Dream. But to be simple and just answer the damn question I'll say Slide Away

But that's the point. Wonderwall was a hit single. Not many people could tell you that "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" is Aerosmith. Not everyone knows that "Every Rose Has It's Thorns" is Poison.... some people are just casual music lovers and just enjoy listening to hit songs.... which isn't that appealing to me, but you have to remember that not everyone worships music like the members of this forum do.

No seriously, i think perhaps stand by me or let there by love.
I got married on the beach in Barbados so we never had a first dance but we did have stand by me playing later on.
One of my mates first dance was " flowers in the window" by Travis which i thought was a strange choice but it was really lovely. Listen to that song and think about it.

Paul Wellar - You Do Something To Me Glad to see someone else recommending Weller, and that's a great choice. Wings Of Speed from that same album should also be considered. I'm kicking myself as I read this thread because at my cousin's reception they had the guests write down three requests per table and I asked for Wonderwall but then left early and didn't get to see if they played it.  |

Thanks for all the great ideas. I'm geting married next July. I have a few requests from you guys now. Jenny, would it be possible for you to upload the songbird demo that you were talking about? I'd love to hear it. Also, what would be the best versions of slide away and talk tonight? Preferably without too much background noise (crowd).
