For those of you interested, members of Tame Impala have a side band called Pond which is actually pretty awesome itself. They have a new album coming out in August. www.nme.com/news/pond/70292Thanks for the heads up Lennon, I wonder what the album will be like without Kevin's inputs. Should be very interesting. Well Tame Impala is really just a Kevin Parker solo project. The guys from Pond make up the majority of his touring band. They are all best friends. Pond's best album is Beard, Wives, Denim. You'd really like that one. Annie Orangretree off Frond. Fantastic Explosion of Time off Beard, Wives, Denim. You Broke My Cool off Beard, Wives, Denim. Jay Watson and Joe Ryan also have solo records coming out. Kevin Parker's girlfriend released Melody's Echo Chamber. This pocket of musicians just keeps giving and giving.

I'm trying to catch them in Philadelphia on Father's Day. I've missed them twice before due to Hurricane Sandy and work.

Nick can't do too much Pond work if guys like Jay Watson and Cam Avery are still touring with Tame Impala. I think Nick was spinning off this planet and needed a break. He's a rather unusual character to begin with.

I heard them on radio recently, I was very surprised. I was wondering who they were, because Kevin Parker sounds awful like Lennon when Lennon made "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album. I searched on the net and listened their albums. First newer band impressed me in the last 10 years.

It is just the name of Kevin Parker's solo project. The rest of the guys are his touring members. Sometimes Jay Watson helps him record but it is mainly just Kevin Parker. Ever listen to Pond? That is the band consisting of most of the Tame Impala tour players.

But still Kevin is awesome. I really want to see them live, should be something.

Is he on heroin? Looked like so, death white, at most semi-conscious. Somehow he lasted the gig, but he was on autopilot...

Yeah I'm watching the steam too. Really looking forward to a new album. Like a third Tame Impala record? Probably a long ways off for that. Lonerism came out in October and the last time I saw Kevin Parker do an interview he sounded disenchànted with doing another album. Hopefully he's just burned out from touring.

Has it really only been that long since the album came out? Feels like I've had it forever.

I really like this band. Innerspeaker doesn't do too much for me (except for a few tracks) but Lonerism is fantastic. What an album! Like gdforever, I really want that they do a 3rd album. It would be great. But if I'm right, Kevin has another 2 or 3 bands.. this can make things a bit complicated.
