Record by the end of the year? I thought they went into the studio 6 months ago? "The songs are a lot better on this album, they have to be." Good to hear. Looks like we won't hear anything until next year though.

So probably middle or late next year is most likely. If they've not gotten the whole thing even written already. This must mean that they aren't digging into the back log anymore? Writing all new instead. I'm interested to hear what they come up with. It's gonna be the big album for them. The one that sets their trajectory. Small band building up vs fizzling. It'd be nice if it were out in time for festival season next year. They got quite a boost last year from the festivals. Wasn't thilled with the song they chose to debut as an indicator of the next album. Although good on them for premiering a song live. I wanted a bit more FLW a bit less TBGO, though. We all keep saying that Liam excels at the rocking songs but they seem intent on making a balladier out of him. Personally I think the new song should have been a song to boost the tone not on the bring it all down a bit before it went up again.

I'm not as excited about his album as their first. We'll see if that changes.

I'm not as excited about his album as their first. We'll see if that changes. That make sense. I doubt I'll ever be as excited about any album from the Gallaghers as I was about their first solo offerings. All options were possible. Even if Oasis get back together I doubt I will personally be more excited although the world in general probably will.

Record by the end of the year? I thought they went into the studio 6 months ago?... Liam always says stuff like that then things get delayed by months or even years. Now it turns out they haven't even finished writing the album, let alone record it, mix it, work out the packaging and marketing. It's say it's at least a year away.

Liam's always been the one who wanted to get into the studio and record right away. Noel was always the one taking his time, going on holiday, taking 2-3 years, then making another album. I think Liam realizes how rushed DGSS was, and is now trying to slow it down and produce some more quality songs.
I have a feeling this next record will have a bit more staying power than DGSS

It was a smart move to release something before Noel. To say we're BDI right awy, to create a new band and release something as the new band quickly.
But it's also the irght move to make a very good second album. I'm sure it will be good, WNSIS is strong tune and latter b side like IABWAB were great. Some more rockers would be nice, less mid tempo and a shorter album. And stop trying to sound like a 60's band too.

We all keep saying that Liam excels at the rocking songs but they seem intent on making a balladier out of him. I've always thought they have struggled with the rockier songs, they are either incredible or dull. The mid tempo ones during Oasis & BE have always seem pretty well, in fact some of the best from the 3 or them.

^At least we know now for sure that World's Not Set In Stone is written by Liam. Cheers.

I mean Liam's voice is best on a rocker not that they excel at writing rock songs I agree they struggle to produce them but i still don't think that his voice shines brightest on midtempo ballads. They have this amazing rock singer and this is what they give him to sing.

Excellent point, jd. They have a singer who has, let's face it, a limited emotional vocabulary. Less Wigwam more Headshrinker.
