I think it'd be a great idea.
A lot of people are arguing that BE shouldn't "fluff up" their set with Oasis era tunes, especially Noel penned songs. But, while I think we all could agree that while BE is a great Rock 'N' Roll band, they could use not only a larger and more varied set list, but a more evolved sound as well to differentiate themselves from Oasis so as to stand on their own two feet as a band. (Despite the inevitable Oasis reunion.)
Liam's voice has matured, aged, and while he can still duke out the tunes, he could use a break or two during the set list, like when Noel would sing say, The Masterplan or DLBIA. Since Noel has flown off somewhere, why not give Andy and Gem a shot at singing a song or two on the next record and tour? Sure, throw in a couple of Oasis tunes (ones they wrote), but experiment as well!
Noel's backing vocals are out of the picture, so that role has been been handed to Andy and Gem. Andy and Gem are arguably better songwriters than the still-blooming-Liam (in terms of say, poetic prose and lyrical imagery) and neither of them have a terrible voice from what I've heard...very folksy, the two of them. DGSS offered us more of a "Stones Rock 'N' Roll Circus Meets The La's Carnival Blues Parade" sound (give it all ya got now...yeah give a little, bum ba dum). But with shared lead vocal duties and harmonies amongst the members as well as a share in the songwriting, they could take their sound places I can only dream of. More "Rubber Soul", I'd say...they could make a brilliant throw back!
A younger Gem...they'd sound a bit more Lennonesque, a bit more Jam-Era Weller.
Does anybody else hear a hint of George Harrison, a touch of Nick Drake?

It would be interesting to see and hear, but I don't see it working out in the long run for them. There is a reason they haven't sung up to this point, and we should just leave it be.

yeah really would like if Gem and Andy would sing some tunes. Would be great to distance themselves from Oasis, which would be the best thing they could do. some discussions here show, how close minded some oasis fans are, if they think about Beady Eye. (Just remember crying out for "Cigarettes and alcohol") they should make more out of them, not out of their past

Liam may not be all that he once was vocally...but he's still heads and shoulders above Gem and Andy IMO. And frankly he is what people are there to see.
Seems to me Liam resented not singing everything on Oasis albums. Can't see him being OK with Gem and Andy starting to take singing duties away from him in BDI too. It's all he is able to do on record or in concert.
And the stageshow would be a farce if Liam left the stage for several songs. At least with Oasis Noel was still there and he sang massive hits to keep the crowd interested. The majority crowd would really turn off if it were just Andy and Gem singing BDI album tracks/bsides and Heavy Stereo/Ride/Hurricane #1 tunes.
Oasis was fronted by both brothers. BDI only has 1 frontman. They need him on stage.

I'd enjoy it, but most people wouldn't. Maybe if there was a song with Liam and Gem/Andy on, in a similar style to Acquiese, it could work. Maybe.

Maybe. thats a good point. people would need something to get into it. maybe 2 songs from next album or b-sides that are sung by gem and andy. when they get used to it, there would be no problem for the regular oasis fans. for beady eye/oasis/heavy stereo/ride/hurrican #1 fans i think there wouldn't be a problem at all

Maybe a Gem or Andy sung bside? I don't mind, as long as its a good song. Which I'm sure it will be.

Beady Eye would become even more of a parody of Oasis, with Gem/Andy acting as "Noel." Can you really imagine having Liam belt out most of the songs, but with an acoustic interlude or the odd ballad led by Gem? Really?
As much as I like Gem - and I really do - I do not like this idea.

Maybe if there was a song with Liam and Gem/Andy on, in a similar style to Acquiese, it could work. Maybe. This is exactly what I thought. They could be a little more experimental with backing vocals or harmonies as well, but I don't see it as being right without LG singing on every song they put out. They're welcome to try and prove me wrong though, I won't kill them for it. (Prefferably on a B side)

I'd love that. Their vocal tones are quite different from the nasal Liam that we hear now, so a few tracks that would otherwise be unnoticeable would definitely spice up the album. They don't have to include it in the setlist and they probably won't if they ever get a chance to decide.

Not for me I'd quite like to see a little acoustic set in the middle of the gig maybe GGTIA followed by SB?

gems songs before oasis are good. but his singing voice is horrible. there is no charisma in it I disagree. I'd say both Andy and Gem have average voices, but Andy sounds really dated now, his singing style is stuck in early 90s. If Gem or Andy were to sing at BDI gigs, i'd go for Gem, he's got a more rockier voice. + it fits the band's style more, sounds like The Fratellis singer.

We already had to patiently wait for Noel to finish singing crap like LBL or MF during Oasis gigs and now you want to back through that with Gem and Andy. You're crazy ! Liam is the greatest frontman of all time, he should front every minute of every gigs !

Those people who want Gem or Andy to take lead vocal are mental, Liam is THE voice, he is THE attraction to Beady Eye.

Liam is the voice, but he's also flourishing as a songwriter.

Gem and Andy are barely passable backing vocalists, what would be the point? They're both excellent guitarists and good songwriters, let's just leave it there.

You're very quick to put down people who enjoy Noel solo yet you have no problem saying something as ridiculous as calling Liam the greatest frontman of all time.

The only people in favour of this would be the venues themselves as you could guarantee the crowd would rush to the bar/toilet.
Noel is a great singer and sung great songs. Andy is possibly the dullest man on the planet and Gem is not exactly Mr Charisma. Why give them a token song when the main attraction is Liam?
