TSR facebook page has just advertised that they will play a set tonight in Warrington. Tickets are free to whoever goes to the 'pyramid box office' with a record or artwork sleeve from 4pm onwards...
So if you live nearby GET DOWN THERE NOW!!!

From NME's Facebook: Down the front at the Stone Roses gig (terrible photo, sorry), waiting for them to come on. Cressa, the unofficial fifth Rose, is here. He tells us, "It's just good everyone's friends again." He found out about the gig yesterday. Talking to people in the crowd, it's clear that a lot of locals knew about the show a while ago, but were sworn to secrecy. Including barman of the local pub, Matt Harding, who was first in the queue for tickets this morning. Oh, and Liam Gallagher's here too! |

They're on! The Stone Roses have taken the stage at Warrington Parr Hall - their first gig in 16 years. Opening with (what else?) 'I Wanna Be Adored'. And it sounds immense.
Liam Gallagher took his seat on the balcony shortly after the band hit the stage, to chants of "Liam!"
And now the Roses are onto their second song, 'Mersey Paradise'. Ian's vocal is sounding strong, Mani looks elated. Reni looking cool in a bandana, whacking a double bass drum emblazoned with the lemon from the 'Stone Roses' album sleeve.

Calm down folks, they're gonna play I Am the Resurrection and Fools Gold at the real gigs. Gotta leave some suspense!  Looking forward to seeing a setlist. Hopefully they venture out to North America later this year. I say they pull a Pulp and come around next year, in time to play Coachella and make the big money. |
