worst single: WFL closely followed by shakermaker worst song: it has to be PYMWYMI. it's just lame. I even remember Noel saying it was a studio accident. the lyrics are shit and the tune is weak

Lyla Also, it did always surprise me Shakermaker was picked as a single. It's lazily-paced, not very hooky or catchy, and only picks up some steam during the 15 second "I'm sorry but I just don't know..." part. DM is close to perfect, but even so I wish DM had Fade Away and Sad Song on every version instead of Shakermaker and Digsy's Diner - both of which would have been decent b-sides. Rock n' Roll Star should've been their second single.

Songs I don't like: Magic Pie (awful lyrics, boring) My Big Mouth (truly appalling lyrics) It's Getting Better Man (dull, dull, dull, goes on far too long, crap lyrics) The Fame (embarassingly bad with, yet again, truly cringeworthy lyrics) Flashbax (lame, rubbish lyrics) My Sister Lover (ditto) Little James (embarassing and complete Lennon rip-off) I Can See A Liar (lyrics - again!!) As Long As They've Got Cigarettes In Hell (dull, lyrics) Full On (half-assed, lazy) Force of Nature (boring as hell) Probably All In The Mind (sub-Stone Roses nonsense) Born On A Different Cloud (someone please tell Liam he's not John Lennon) Better Man (Repetitive drivel) The Importance Of Being Idle (....zzzzzzz) Turn Up The Sun (good tune ruined by Liam's dodgy vocals) Love Like A Bomb (dull) The Meaning Of Soul (Liam does Elvis - not good) Let There Be Love (twee garbage that Noel would have taken the piss out of 10 years ago)
Worst singles: Who Feels Love? (sub-Beatles, hippy bollocks) Sunday Morning Call (ruined by that God-awful "choir") She Is Love (see Let There Be Love) The Importance of Being Idle (....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Can't help feeling Noel has started to run out of songs. Not surprising after all the classics, though.

It's not really that I hate all of it, it's just if I'm being objective I don't think it's up to the same standard they set with the first two albums. Maybe that would have been impossible to do, I don't know, it's just that I don't rate anything from Be Here Now onwards as being as good as the stuff from 1994, 1995 and 1996 when Noel was at his songwriting peak. When I put together a Best of Oasis mix CD I really struggle to include anything from '97 onwards.

I think every oasis album has a different sound and each of them has had at least 2 or 3 gems that will be always regarded as classics

They've done stuff that pales in comparison to what they're capable of, but they never made a song that was bad in and of itself, although She Is Love came dangerously close.
But in comparison to everything else, the Little By Little/She Is love CD is by far the worst disc they ever released. The two worst Oasis singles ever and to top it off a cover of My Generation, which sucked compared to the blistering radio exclusive version they made a couple years before.

most disappointing single, when it came out, was roll with it...after def maybe and some might say i was hoping for something better...it was the first time that oasis let me down (even the b-sides were a little off the mark-although i would die for either better people or rockin chair as b sides for the current singles)...i can remember thinking, at the time, omg, those blur fuckers are going to trump oasis and take over the world (alas, those were innocent times for this canadian lad...although, i still had the glorious few months of 'the wonderwall blip' when they took over the muchmusic airwaves and gave my dreams of a second british invasion some hope)...
as for complete single...i'll have to go with 'wasted six string daddy'...little by little/she is love represents everything that is bad about a single... if you are going to have a double a-side-be like the beatles and release songs that arent on the album (day tripper b/w we can work it out, penny lane b/w strawberry fields) don't alienate your fanbase by releasing two tepid songs from the album with a half assed cover.
ugh.

strawberry fields is on magical mystery tour... sorry. Yeah, but that was only collected on there a year or so after it came out as a single (the Stawberry Fields/Penny Lane double A-side preceeded Sgt Pepper). And the Magical Mystery Tour album was really a soundtrack companion to the TV movie they made for it, which included Strawberry Fields. So at the time, his reasoning stands. It was actually a chart law at the time about singles not being on albums in the same year or something. The Beatles were pressured by EMI into putting out Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields and then found they couldn't put them on their new album, Sgt Pepper (and as they were the only 2 songs they had recorded so far, they basically had to start the album again from scratch).

The version of My Generation on The Little By Little single is the version they recorded for radio. Check the fine print on the single. It was recorded 7 Feb. 2000 at BBC Maida Vale.
