"My Noel Gallagher Experience"

So last Friday started off as any other Friday. Get up go to work get off a little early.

Before leaving for Atlanta I grabbed my Oasis demo tape with a sharpie and say to my girlfriend,"In the one and a million chance we meet Noel". Not realizing that those words would ever come true.

We drive up to Atlanta in about an hour and a half and park right across the street from The Tabernacle. "Let's walk the block to see what's going on." I say. The last time I had been to The Tabernacle was to see Oasis in 2002 with The Soundtrack of Our Lives opening up for them.

As we walk around the corner of the venue I see some people hanging out by the side of The Tabernacle. I noticed a couple of buses so I thought,"Cool let's see what's up." Immediately I notice a young kid and his dad hanging out by the rail.

"You guys been here long?" I ask.
"No not at all." The dad says. "You just missed him about 15 minutes ago. He got into a black town car and left."

"Crap!" I tell my girlfriend with a sense of regret for not leaving the house a little earlier.

"I got a picture of him leaving on my phone." The kid says and proceeds to send it to me in a MMS. We talk to them both for the next couple of hours just passing the time.

We end up staying for a while, running into Mona who go across the street for what I suppose is a pre-gig drink. "Man those guys wear tight jeans." one fan mentions.

Then a couple minutes later I notice a guy with a flip style video camera walking towards us fans. "It's Scully!" I tell my girl.

He walks up and tells us that he is filming for the post tour documentary. "Has anyone got anything to say to Noel?"
"Yeah, sign my Oasis demo tape." I say to him as he laughs it off.
"Just tell Noel thanks for coming to Georgia." I say to the cam.

He goes down the line of fans and gets to a girl who tells him she is there for her Senior trip and came from all the way from Kansas City. Scully talks to her for a few, finishes up with the rest of the fans and heads inside.

"Well babe what should we do?" I say to my love.
"We can stay here for a while." She says.
And that's what we did.

We notice Mona coming back in and they proceed to go inside to start their set. By this time some of the folks that were hanging out decide to go inside, including the boy and his father.

A couple minutes later we hear Mona start to play and once again ask each other,"Do you want to go inside?" Noel has to come back I'm thinking. Did he go inside through another door? But we end up staying.

Just then I hear the girl from Kansas City say,"Guys that's the black car." And up pulls the black town car from the kid's picture from earlier.

The rear passenger door opens and out steps the coolest man on the planet Noel Gallagher. He walks straight up to us fans waiting for just a glance, let alone an autograph. And proceeds to chat.

He comes up next to us and no one has a sharpie.
"Here Noel." I say as I hand him mine.
He starts signing people's things as I get the demo tape from my girlfriend.
Noel makes his way to right in front of us and I reach out and hand it to him.
A look of surprise comes over his face,"Wow! Where did you get that from?" he asks.
"I got it from a guy in Manchester..." I some how manage to spit out.
"I haven't even got one of these." Noel says referring to the demo.
"Who did you get this from?" he asks.
"A music promoter in Manchester named Dean."I reply.

Noel hands me the tape back and continues signing people's tickets and stuff.
Crap! I thought. He hasn't signed it yet. I open the tape as he comes back down the line towards me.
"Noel could you sign the tape for me?"I ask him.
He looks at the tape inspects song titles and says,"Well. That is is my handwriting."
He sign the tape gives it back and ends up signing one of our tickets as well.
"Who's pen? Noel asks.
"It's mine." I tell him and get my sharpie back.

Noel turns to walk inside just as I tell him,"Thanks for coming to Georgia!"

Still in shock and not believing what just happened.

This was the best night of my life and I met some really really nice people. I can only hope something like this will happen again. If I'm lucky.
