Noels songs would not only improve the quality of the gigs, Noels songs would most likely be the best moments of them, lets face it.

Them performing Turn Up The Sun would be absolutely amazing, I actually don't see that as an Oasis song that much at all. I don't know why.
I actually hope they will stick to LAG, but considering these comments, it's probably unlikely. Cigarettes and Alcohol and Rock and Roll Star spring to mind straight away, but Bring It On Down or Columbia would be amazing.

It wouldn't be so bad Liam playing Noel's songs if he hadn't been calling him a "c*nt" for the last 2 years.

In a certain sense I'm a little disappointed, but at the same time, I'll love every second of it if I catch Beady Eye this year, (never got to see Oasis live. Might make it to Noel this year, but Beady Eye is much closer to Oasis than Noel ever will be in my mind) Kinda wish they said nothing, then just bust out Songbird once in a while as a final encore after a fucking great gig and crowd. I did get to see Oasis but totally agree with what you're saying. My head says that I wish they'd just leave it. But I know when I'm actually at the gig and hear the first few chords of Cigarettes and Alcohol it'll be a different story.

Today is day 1. It will continue for some time especially when the press does interviews for their next tour/album.

Roger Daltrey has been singing Townsend's songs for years. He has a big back catalouge himself but none of the solo stuff has ever really made as big an impact. It just sounds right, he is synonymous with particular Who songs. Like Liam and Oasis songs like C&A, SA, CS, AATW & GLIO. Sure Noel wrote them but who else could really SING them? I personally hope Beady Eye bring back Betterman, Born On A Different Cloud & Turn Up The Sun which arent Noel's anyway

I have no idea why people think this is something that should be considered.

Will you be playing any Oasis songs on the Beady Eye tour? LG and GA: [simultaneously] Nope. You won’t even slip an old favorite into the setlist? LG: I think it’d be schizophrenic, man. You know what I mean? Jumping from one to the other is fucking weird. It’s just fucking mental. Get over it. Oasis is yesterday. It’s fucking done. March 15, 2011
00:15-01:00 May 30, 2011
He also said he'd consider playing Oasis songs in the future. Beady Eye currently don't play any of their songs in their set. "No that's the decision we've made. There's no backing down. We made a decision that it wasn't right," he said. "Maybe down the line we could do it. Certainly won't be doing it tonight or next week or in the next year. A couple of albums down I like to think we could bang out our songs. Not now man, they're not our songs they're Noel's." July 11, 2011
“The time is right now, without a doubt. We were always going to do it, but we thought the album needed to stand on its own. We’ve done some good gigs, we’ve done some shit gigs. And it’s time to drop them in now. Everyone else is. I feel they’re just as much my songs as they are Noel’s. And if people don’t like it, go to the bar or **** off. If they do like it, jump up and down, let’s have a good time.” March 12, 2012

Dave Grohl should play Cobain's songs, Macca should play Lennon's then. Dave Grohl has admitted to jamming on Teen Spirit on numerous occasions and also plays a Nirvana BSide, while Paul McCartney plays A Day In The Life and Give Peace A Chance nearly all the time sooo... Dave Grohl wrote that B-side(Marigold) and we haven't seen his new band playing Teen Spirit

I'm just saying the band will be asked about the Noel Oasis songs if they include them and Liam is going to go on the defense which is probably going to be good for quotes for the press.

Dave Grohl wrote that B-side(Marigold) and we haven't seen his new band playing Teen Spirit maybe not in public but he played it though, he said in an interview that him, pat and krist played it (basically nirvana minus kurt). And I'm pretty sure that now pat smear is back in the band and with the nevermind20 and inevitable in utero20 carrying on, plus the fact they've played with krist, it will happen sooner or later. I'm a massive nirvana fan and think it would be the coolest thing ever if that happened

He only joined up once they did the In Utero tour. I think he was just a touring member for 6-7 months. If I remember correct this was just a one day jam session and nobody sang vocals for Smells Like Teen Spirit. I doubt the Foo Fighters would ever perform it let alone tour it in their sets.

It will happen one day, even if nobody sings

Not really a valid comparison anyway as Grohl didn't sing the song in the first place.
Vince from Motley Crue has always sang Crue songs on solo tours, he has the odd writing credit but Sixx basically wrote all them. I suppose the current GNR situation has some similarities as well, although Axl had major writing parts in most of the songs he's carried into his new setlists, aside from Patience, Think About You & Paradise City (although the latter was debated by someone with me on this forum previously). I'm as much a GNR fan as I am an Oasis fan and have always been glad Axl continued to play those songs, although I do acknowledge the band name make's a big difference in that case.

Krist isn't even in Foo Fighters and they are on a huge run right now after being up for Album of the Year at the Grammys. They don't need to play Nirvana tunes. I don't even think the Foo Fighters fan base in the US even listens to Nirvana. Very teeny bopper in the US at the moment. Even soccer moms are picking up the CD. That would make Cobain puke.

He has the right to change his mind. Noel changes his every two days like you noticed. It's been a year since this statement, maybe he miss the song now and didn't then. Maybe HFB medium's performance of Oasis songs made him realize he can do them justice more with BDI. Maybe since everybody is happy because Noel plays some, he feels Oasis is his history too and want to share it with his audience too. Noel changes his mind about almost anything, Liam changes his about an important stuff in his carreer : playing his catalogue or not. Not the same for me.

Guess they'll do a good job out of them, they did back then when Noel had left the tour, but it's still a bit sad that they're not sticking to their guns on this one. But now that festivals headliners have turned into nostalgia acts, they probably don't have much of a choice anyway.
