I can just see it now, the AA boys are delievered a great song like "Freaky Teeth" and their first reaction is "how can we make this go for forty minutes with repeating verses?!" Ugh. I am depressed that these amatuers are allowed to screw around with the King's songs. You just know they are not concerned with making Noel's songs glorious and anthemic, rather they want them to be "art" (which in AA's world mean rambling, un-melodic, and ultimately, un-inspiring). Way to hit the panic button before you've heard anything official from that project. Just wait and see. I think many people are basing it all on their remix of Falling Down. I believe there will be more straight forward production on the AA album than the remixes had. Remember it was a remix, not a proper collaboration.

i knew this thread will turn up at any point. but it's far to soon to judge. the only thing you need to know is that the aa-album will not be something for the mass. if you don't like what they've done before then you probably won't like the feature with noel anyway

Wait and See: judging by their past recording related to Oasis (remix) or NGHFB (If i had a gun's AA version played at the gigs), the panic button needs to be pressed... But i'll really give it a chance.

have you actually ever heard their stuff (not oasis related). its nothing like the falling down or IIHAG mix. most of it is concise 4 minute long psychedelia, nothing too crazy. it'll be fine

I've thought about the samething... Freaky Teeth is a good rocker, don't ruin it.

If anything, they'll make Noel's stuff interesting. His solo debut had some good, melodic songs, but it was nothing new. I was hoping for a bit of a detour with it, (I was ultimately disappointed) and a full on departure with the AA. (which I was looking more forward to anyway) I hope the new album isn't a disappointment (to me) as well...

I'm going to be royally pissed off if they cut the words 'sun' and 'shine' out of every song and just leave the boring lines in.

We'll see. I hate to judge something if it's good or bad before having a listen of it.

If people don't like the AA produced tracks of TDOYAM, IIHAG or WAL they can safely listen to the High Flying Birds versions. Other than those songs, nobody should know the difference since Noel said the other 10 tracks are brand new for the most part.

From the brief clip we've heard of TDOYAM in the WAL video, I'm really excited about that one. If I Had A Gun sounds pretty good from when I heard it at the gig and the recordings that have surfaced. So far they've got me intrigued.
I'm interested to see what they'd do with Freaky Teeth since the live performances are so tight and structured. There doesn't seem like a lot of room for them to pick it apart, but I said that when I heard that IIHAG was on the album, so who knows.
Either way, I think it's ridiculous to say that AA is going to ruin songs you haven't heard yet. Let's not set off any alarm bells just yet.

In fact that record sounds like someone trying to copy Teotihuacan with a bit of Kula Shaker, which is is kinda ironic in a way... Dreamy piano + Sitar + female backing voice + Backward guitars formula. I'll check their more recent stuff.

it's a valid concern for some of the fans who are more into structured and straight forward music but its music have an open mind about it before you hear it and while your listening. At worst I think we'll get at least one master piece in which this collaboration lives up to its potential but honestly think this album could be the best album from a Gallagher in years. There is no denying Noel's recent surge in writing good songs but the AA crew could had some interesting and sometimes needed twists and turns to the songs.

I like the IIHAG mix and I'm into some of their stuff. I think the AA album will be great and everything but what I'm worried about mainly is the songs not living up to their potential, I mean imagine if the only version of IIHAG we ever heard was the AA one. It's cool and everything but It's no where near as good as the 'real' HFB version. I'm just concerned that some really great songs will be 'lost' on there if you know what I mean.

Sounds good to me, about time something of Noel's was different and beyond the expected.
But then again, Noel could do with more anthems. As if he doesn't have an entire catalogue of them.

tbh, I'm more interested in this collaboration. I loved the Falling Down remix, and it would be crazy if they did the whole album like that. I think its not about the quality of the songs, it is more about the musicality in them. The whole noises atmosphere that suddently become armonic through the old structure of the song.
If its like that, its going to be great (at least for me haha) ;D

Thing is, when Noely G releases album #3 people will moan that it "isn't as ambitious, adventurous, etc as the AA album"
I guarantee it.

Im not a fan of the AA (mostly based on the aforementioned remixes), but I am highly anticipating the album with them - mostly though cuz im a guitarist and Noel said there's almost too much guitar on it. Now whether he means sound collages and random shit or legit songs with lots o guitar remains to be seen.

I really wouldn't mind seeing a total different side of Noel and I hope it's going to be well psychedelic and trippy as he promised. Kind of starting to get into that sort of stuff.... Although I'm not too familiar with the AA yet, so I don't really know what to think of them doing it.

Or he's going to pull a BHN and make it so extreme everybody hates it, lol (BTW I fucking love BHN) As long as it's something different. He's done what people expected with High Flying Birds and, while it's quality, it's about time he's tried out some new styles. I have faith, especially after hearing the bonus HFB tracks.
