Ever since Noel discovered these guys, we've gotten remixes instead of b-sides on DOYS, most by other people, but AA probably gave him the idea to do it. This cost the fans at least 2 or 3 REAL b-sides.
Now, he's releasing this album/collaboration. I've heard most of the IIHAG version and is absolute trash. I cant stand the stupid sound effects and production. To me, its nearly unlistenable. The album is gonna flop big time in sales, and for the first time ever, I don't know if I'm gonna buy a Gallagher record.

i don't hate them but i don't really care for the music..but i don't think everything they touch will be gold..i will admit i like bits and pieces from the "falling down" remix but for the most part i skip to those parts and don't finish listening to the song...i get a little annoyed when i see comments like "yeah AA should totally take this and it would sound so much better" i doubt it would...someone said that about "let the lord shine a light on me" and i thought to myself..."man fuck you"...this song is fuckin' brilliant without all that psychedelic malarkey, but i won't make judgement yet till i hear the whole album but i can tell you i agree on "if i had a gun" i thought it was garbage...really repetitive.

well the AA aren't something for the mass. and i don't think noel wants to release this album to get a huge success. he does it because he can and he doesn't care about sales anymore

I really liked High and Dry by them, it would be awesome if Noel next album sounded like this.

You're wrong, he only discovered the AA after DOYS had been released and most of the remixes had already been done. You'll probably be upset to hear that he recently said he wants to do another album with them after this one...

Noel didn't discover AA until after DOYS was released to the shops and the tour underway. I believe he discovered them in late winter 2008 while reading Mojo magazine between tour dates. It was in his Tales From The Middle of Nowhere tour blog. At that point TSOTL and IOT had been released. I wouldn't blame AA for that. Noel spoke that summer of 2008 how songs were being built around "grooves" that he believed lended itself for remixes so he reached out to some of his favorite electronic producers and that is how DOYS b-sides became remix heavy. Only Falling Down received the AA treatment to mix fan reaction.

As for The High Flying Birds, you've already got a fresh batch of Noel Gallagher songs (18 so far? Cant remember...) Which normally would've taken years for him to release. The AA album is just an extra treat.

I wouldn't be too worried about the album, Noel said it sounds a lot like Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' and I'm happy with that because I fucking love that album. If you dislike Pink Floyd's stuff then I guess you won't like the AA album.
Anyhow don't judge until you have heard a lot more than just a more than likely unfinished IIHAG remix.

Now but it's true the Falling down remix was horrible. The exitement wnt be the same, maybe less "the leak is imminent" for this album. But it could be a good suprise, who knows.

We don't even know what it is actually going to sound like yet!!!!! I mean, we've got a crappy version of IIHAG, and that's just like a remix, pretty much.... For all we know, the AA might just produce the tracks to make them a bit psychedelic.... This album could turn out to be just like DOYS!!!! Don't judge before you've heard it!(Unless it's Coldplay, then you know it's shit )

I'm much more excited for the AA album than I was the NGHFB one. I knew we were gonna get the same type of tunes Noel is comfortable writing and I'm ready for a departure from that, so bring on the AA album!!!

I don't think Noel is looking for commercial success with the AA. He's doing something HE wants to do for HIMSELF. We've got a lot from this album and he's already planning albums 3 and 4. No need to get greedy!

I too have zero expectations for this album so anything I like about it will be a pleasant suprise. I wouldn't be too bothered about sales and such since as mentioned this is just something Noel wanted to do for himself. I just hope this collaboration doesn't delay his next solo release.

No need to get greedy! This! You're absolutely right, Noel isn't working with AA to achieve anything commercially, that was what High Flying Birds was for. He obviously really admires and respects their own approach to making music, and of course we all know he's a big fan of electronic music anyway, ie working with Death In Vegas, Chemical Brothers, Goldie, Unkle etc. If Noels collaboration with them sounds like this then I'll be happy!...

I think the excitement will be just as much if not more than it was for the HFB. The HFB hype was actually pretty moderate until 2 weeks before release and it still hadn't leaked yet.
People got so excited about BDI because they were exactly sure what they would get. With HFB we had heard half of the tunes in various forms. There are 10 original tracks on the AA album and we've almost run out of snippets and almost all the soundcheck tunes have been used already.
Only Don't Stop the Happening and God Help Us All are left that we have heard but haven't been released.
It'll be exciting because people will be extremely curious to hear what it sounds like.

It's going to be interesting to see what he does with that album live.
Perhaps avoid playing it live completely, just have it as standalone studio album?
Or perhaps have a 20-30min AA section at the gigs, with them joining him on stage? Can't see that working in an Arena though, he'd have to do a smaller venue mini-tour to promote the album...
Or he could just play the songs 'straight', as they were before the AA touched them?

If so, we've already seen how he'll do it

If so, we've already seen how he'll do it As of now we have zero confirmation on Noel's plans for 'Freaky Teeth'. All we know for sure is he wrote it in the fall/winter of 2008, he said it would make a great James Bond song and it looks like at one point it was track 1 of NGHFB (based on tracklisting seen in documentary). I'm sure some journalist will ask about the song soon enough. Best guesses now are stand alone single or future b-side. I pray for the first.
