I remember Liam once said that they would probably not keep Jeff Wootton as a permanent member of Beady Eye. Is he using Beady Eye as a jumping point for a solo career or to get his own band The Black Marquee off the ground?
I listened to Jeff's MySpace profile - the kid's an amazing guitarist. The psychedelic guitar playing was incredibly exciting.
Do you know any if Jeff is planning on releasing an album anytime soon or is he sticking to being Beady Eye's bass player?

He's recording the whole time in the studio, so I suspect his days as the bass player for Beady Eye are not going to last much longer.

The (official) Black Marquee is no more. Jeff is working on his project (he hasn't figured out a band yet I've heard from sources, so I'm not sure if it will be a solo project + collabs or really a band with collabs - wish he would get back at me ) whenever he has days off during the tour, and wants to really get on it next year. Will have collabs with people he met while he was touring with Gorillaz. First and foremost, he's a guitarist, so I'm not sure if he should stay with Beady Eye if he wants his own project to get off the ground and shed off the image of a bass player.

What do you mean by the official Black Marquee? Did the band split up?

Yes, but Steven Young, the other bloke who was in the band, has sort of taken the name for himself... It's not the official Black Marquee in my eyes.

Hello, Jeff Wootton is working at his music projects, he never stopped actually. The Black Marquee is the band founded by Jeff Wootton in Manchester in 2008, it's his band and it has a respected and well known history in Manchester, counting a number of collaborations already before even having their first album out. An album by Jeff is going to be released next, so keep up to date with his official Twitter for news about it: twitter.com/jeffwoottonFor all the info about Jeff Wootton and his myspace tracks and The Black Marquee and their music/history you can join The Black Marquee Fans myspace page, message there and other links will be given to keep up to date with official news: www.myspace.com/theblackmarqueefansThe profile is kept private at the moment, so send a friend request there if you have myspace. Updates soon. The Black Marquee facebook is here: www.facebook.com/pages/The-Black-Marquee/131908748824I don't know why somebody replied to you saying about official band is no more, this is not true at all, that person has no involment with Jeff or the band and knows nothing about their projects and should not talk in blogs as if she knows 'news from sources' because it's only her opinions and they can be very misleading and confusing, all this is very weird and this why I decided to write this message to remove some confusion. For anything about the band or Jeff just let me know. And yes, Jeff is a fabulous and innovative guitarist/producer, enjoy more of his sessions on his website, there are some more featuring Nick McCabe of The Verve: www.jeffwootton.net/music.htmlAll the best and see you around at some Jeff's gig.

Hi, I don't why you are claiming that The Black Marquee is no more. The Black Marquee is Jeff Wootton's band and it's still there. There is no such 'official or non official' band but only one. For news about upcoming Jeff's projects and releases the only sources are his Myspace, Website and Twitter. You say 'I've heard from sources', this is weird since the only sources are Jeff's official websites, where he keeps up date his fans regularly, all links on his facebook. The info you posted here are your opinions and you should state it clear that they are your opinions or ideas you got from the internet or this might lead to misunderstandings about Wootton's projects and his band. All you posted here are your opinions and it's fair to claim that clearly and more they are not true.

^ Thanks for clarifying, it's evident you've got first-hand info, so thank you for sharing it with us.
I'm actually very eager to listen what Jeff will release by his own. So far, I like a lot what I've heard.

Hi Gina, thanks for clearing that up, but could you maybe use a friendlier tone? And in my opinion it's "no more", because it's not the 2 guys who started it, doing it together. To be fair, I did say "in my eyes", which makes it clear it's an opinion.
If the Black Marquee is still Jeff's band though, why is there a band called "Steven Young & The Black Marquee" now? Thought Steven has made clear on his blog that he does not wish to work with Jeff anymore.

I know both Jeff and Steven really well, I'm gutted they didn't stay together as they were very promising; Steven with amazing songwriter n singer, Jeff an amazing guitarist.
Unfortunately they fell apart because of Jeff's commitments to the gorillaz n beady eye, whilst Jeff was happy jobbing touring the world in other peoples band, Steven wants to conquer he world in his own band. Whatever that lad does is gonna be colossal!
Peace n Love is one of my favourite songs with fucking mega lyrics man!
Another band you should check out is Spring Heeled Jack with Kristian Marr, they've got some catchy tunes.
