Go and see your doctor my friend. If ear syringing doesn't work I would suggest a strong dose of steroids!!!!!!

In the words of Noel Gallagher, Dream On.

To me Beady Eye is still a good 'basic rock n roll' type of album, Noels is much more complex, a lot of different layers and a great album. But either way despite the sad breakup of Oasis i'm happy i've got two very good albums to listen to.

Yeah I really enjoyed Beady Eye, they are a good fun little rock n roll band, but Noel is clearly a better songwriter than them. They rock, he writes.

I agree with you guys. Beady Eye is a fun listen every now and then. But this album is something that I think will be with me for the rest of my life. We'll see how it goes and how it stands the test of time, but I'm pretty blown away right now.

In all seriousness the best of DGSS and NGHFB is going to make one hell of an album. The best 10 songs would be the High Flying Birds album, though... But I don't think that is being serious though. It's heat of the moment talk. Don't get me wrong I've been blown away by some of the songs on nghfb but unless you really cant stand Liams voice you can't deny there's good music on dgss. A compilation of the two albums would make good listening.

Great album Noel has made but I can understand what the OP is getting at, they prefer more rock in their roll

It's that he's so many levels above LAG as a songwriter. They're not even in the same league. Not even close.

Great album Noel has made but I can understand what the OP is getting at, they prefer more rock in their roll I, on the other hand, prefer more roll in my rock. (by that I mean, i prefer more bread when I'm having a meatball sandwich. Don't you hate it when overstuffed meat overwhelms the bread? Gawd I fuckin hate that)

Okay, I get what you're saying. But I reckon on these introspective numbers, the Liam's cadence these days are so fuckin overtly Lennonesque that it might....I dunno, I can't find the words anymore!!!!!!!!! don't mind me, carry on

Over the last 6 years, I don't know how many times I've said that that way of rating songs is idiotic - it takes into account the placing and not the quality. Very nonsensical.
With that being said, there's no way in hell DGSS is better. It's not even close. I like DGSS, but it's an average album.
Noel is just on another level. This is no slight at LAG, since 1994 we've known Noel to be on a different level.....

NG > LAG & Co. in terms of songwriting ability. Noel is also a better singer now, so no.
FLW and The Roller could hang with HFBs, but that's it.
That said, this is a very different style of album from DGSS. These songs would feel very out of place on DGSS and vice versa.

Not comparable. DGSS is a solid album by the boys, I like it alot, but they're not NGHFB.

(and then he goes on to not substantiate "placing", whatever the fuck that means)

Judging an album based on the order of the tracks is completely stupid, and shows nothing of value. Who gives a shit if track 2 on x album is better than track 2 on y album? Does my head in when people "review" and compare albums this way. IT MAKES NO GOD DAMN SENSE.

Yeah, NL4E is right, that's just fucking retarded. But let's compare the best song in each album, for example. For me, it's EOTR vs. Morning Son. And EOTR shits all over Morning Son.

way too early for this. Noel's album just leaked a few hours ago so it's new and fresh, therefore everyone thinks every single song is brilliant.
give it at least a couple of days before we start the comparisons. Like some other user mentioned, to think what could have been of the next Oasis album. Such a shame...

tbf everyone didn't think every song was brilliant on DGSS even right after the leak.
No. I like Noel's album better. Any criticisms are tiny things for me. I am not actually a massive ROCK MUSIC junky. I don't care that they aren't any dense heavy rock songs a la FLW...but tbf...BDI only had one good song like that...and they had the perfect singer.
