Seriously, does every fucking song need that thumping drum beat? It's like an entire album of Mucky Fingers (the worst Oasis song ever recorded).

Can anyone honestly listen to Record Machine without cringing? Just terrible. Hey, at least it's one of the few songs without that damn Kinks thmping drum beat. Thank God for that, I guess.

This is exactly why Noel hated 30 second snippets, don't judge until you hear the full version!

stop the clocks sounds a bit over produced but i cant stop myself from listening to it... Another one without that fucking thumping, repetitive drum beat. It sounds perfectly acceptable, but nothing special. I'll be skipping a good 3/4 of this album. Too many of the songs sound the exact same. I have no interest in a Kinks "best of" CD.

I don't see how if you're a Noel Gallagher fan, and like the songs he sang with Oasis, how you couldn't be pleased with what you've heard so far. Or at least wouldn't be dismissing what has been released as "garbage".
I have a sneaking suspicion that you're not a Noel Gallagher fan though.

I think that IIHAG is one of his very best. The B-sides have ALL been great too, with the exception of The Good Rebel. I like Noel. I hate horrible dadrock songs like Mucky Fingers and Force of Nature, which a lot of this album sounds like. It's as if Noel said to himself "I've written 1/2 of a good album here, I better add 5 songs that sound just like Mucky Fingers to ruin it."

Funny, I hate Mucky FIngers and Force of Nature too. You can add GOYHHL and SMC and several others to that list. I'm as critical of Noel as anyone when he fucks up.
I just have no clue how anyone could hear the melodic, diverse tunes we've heard to date and what we know about EOTR and RM and hear the snippets for BA and DO (which in my opinion doesn't sound all that Kinksy) and start a thread calling the album garbage.
Call me thick, but I just can't comprehend how a Noel fan could not be immensely pumped up.
