Ok,Kalas doesn't like everything Noel has put out as a solo artist,people are bitching over Spaneli and Gdforever cause it looks like it's the cool thing to do,the son is doing pretty well but he needs to stay in the eye of the public this week if he wants it to stay that high,we've seen it all before,can we stop this now? A performance or two wouldn't hurt him this week, but like I said in another thread, I don't think he gives a crap about the charts right now. He just doesn't strike me that way at the moment. He is just letting the chips fall where they should be. And it's a good thing ,,,cause the tune sux if he needed to pay a bill ...he would need a bloke on the eastend to sort him ...cause this music is poor mate |

Im going back to sinatra Van HALEN and Zep, I really like what Noel's been putting out for the last 4 years,if you want 96 Noel there's plenty of material out there you can listen to  You see that is where your young age corrupts you , I didn't mean noel sounding 96 I meant writing and being relevant like he was in 96 l..you know when he mattered ?? ......OH WAIT IM SORRY YOU MISSED THAT ERA yet you speak with such authority , almost as if you lived throuh that era and your opinion has a seed of knowledge based on expierence ...not history |

Honestly ? I wanted a tune that I could play in my car , or play to my nephew and not be ashamed to crank it .....sadly I can't say that for this trash is that asking too much man you NAILED it big time, man. that is IT. it's not a song I would play to my friends. not even the lady. I was pleased to make em listen to The Death Of You & Me. truly great songwriting, good playing. TIMELESS song. now it's just mmm.. yeah I like it, but why do I like it? I absolutely LOVE this song, and if people have a problem with that, then you know where you can go. It doesn't rely on his traditional influences which have been worn thin to the point of tedium, if any of you are demanding that, you've got 20 years worth of material to check out again. But as a fan of Echo & The Bunnymen, in addition to electronic acts of which has influenced Noel (Chemical Bros, Massive Attack, etc) , I think an amalgamation of these acts is present in the song and thus it's perfect for me, especially as I wanted something fresh sounding. Noel mentioned the Bunnymen, and I can definitely detect that dark melancholy which characterises that band. So for me, I know I'm not deluded in loving this tune, despite what others may think. I respect your opinion as you know ...but disagree |

People would think that about any album. Look at WTSMG to Be Here Now Huh ?? I take it the likes of Eno, Four Tet, Boards of Canada, and the like have never touched your eardrums, and you are worse of because of that. I'm not sure what you are expecting, but it is obvious this isn't it. A lot of people sold Noel short for a lot of years as a guy who apes the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Stones, and forget at his artistic and commercial peak, he was working with the Chemical Brothers and praising DJ Shadow. It is nice to see these influences come to the forefront finally. Actually I have Avery wide kaleidoscope of taste from sinatra to Zep. Sprinkled in with STREISSAND , so when it comes to being obvious unless you know me , you have no clue ....im on songpop if you want to see how limited my musical taste is ....simply challenge . This was always gonna be the true single release for the album..this is a great track and the haters can hate and those hoping for another shakermaker will never get it..noels music as evolved and if you think tracks like aint got nothing and nature of reality are better than this then youve got the oasis blinkers on..tracks like that are the reason oasis are no more..noel was having to leave songs off for average crap like that.This is some of his best stuff in years..and people saying hes trying to stay with the crowd???fuck off will you ...god help when liam releases a record Do you seriously believe the crap you just said Knew you were a bit thick ....but this just proves it to all .......the reason Oasis are no more , has nothing to do with track selection ....you twit |

The over-analysis of this song in this thread is astonishing. However, the song itself has massively grown on me. Never had an experience like it with music before.
