Which one did you go for, deasy? Did WAL live up to your expectations? Haven't heard your opinion since the song's had a full play. Not up to my lofty expectations Really? Even with that avatar?

IIHAG is probably my favourite song right now...out of any ever written. Right there with Slide Away.
Never been a big fan of Wonderwall, tbh.
IIHAG TDOYAM WAL TGR
I expect EOTR to top IIHAG.

I definitely prefer TGR to WAL, my ratings of the tunes so far
If I Had A Gun - 9/10 The Death Of You And Me - 8/10 The Good Rebel - 6.5/10 What A Life - 6/10
Had IIHAG been released on DBTT or any previous album before hand then it would have almost certainly ended up on STC imo, whereas i really dont think WAL could ever sit alongside the real classics like live forever, DLBIA etc.
I do think WAL however would have been a better alternative to GOYHHL on DOYS, then take off the final three tracks and replace them with IBIA and BWTB as the closer and that would have been enough to elevate it to a solid 9/10 album, rather than have it spoiled by the final 3 tracks being of definite b-side standards

I seem to be one of the few people here who rate The Good Rebel!

If I Had A Gun = Better than Wonderwall. I'll keep saying that until people realize it. That is just crazy... Wonderwall is a better song. It's so easy to see just think about it

It's so easy to see just think about it If IIHAG was on Morning Glory, I bet we'd all be rating it better than Wonderwall. It's just that Wonderwall has entered that "classic" zone nearly 20 years later.

thread should be retitled: "what's the second best noel solo tune?"
WAL and TDOYAM are fine but a distant second and third to IIHAG.
