2000 is my favourite, closely followed by 1997.
It's funny how the availability of bootlegs alters your perception though. Every time I think of him singing live I hear "You could wait for a lifeta-, To spend your days in the sunsha-" from the last tour, since theres about 900 recordings on Youtube

2000 for me. The vocals on Familiar To Millions are stunning from start to finish.

Gotta be 1997. He sounded great on record from the very beginning, but in terms of live performances he was really on top form throughout 1997. He's been getting better recently as well.

Find it incredible that people think his voice in 2000/01 was the best period.
I remember hearing bootlegs around the time of SOTSOG and thinking his voice was going downhill - watched Jools Holland when it was on telly, voice was a lot deeper, a lot raspier and he couldn't reach the high notes, his phrasing had changed, he was cutting off early at the end of each line.
Thought it was just a blip, but it's gone downhill ever since!
Only gigs i've seen Oasis were in the 2001-02 era - started at Glasgow Barrowlands for 10 years gig, and ended at NIA in Birmingham in 2002. The voice was at a pretty low ebb by that NIA gig.
Oh, and 1995 is my favourite:

1995. 1997 isn't far behind, though.

Oh, and 1995 is my favourite: Think it just boils down to personal preference. I totally agree that he was at his best technically in 1995, but I like the raspiness of later years. The only vocals I can't abide are the 2005-2006 vocals where he has no tone or pitch at all.

And of course the infamous "I take cocaine in the pouring rain" lyrical improvisation
