Nice one man! My only concern would be why e'd have two singles out a month before the album. Surely better to keep momentum going by keeping stronger songs untill the album has been out for a month or two and then release to publisise the album. I seem to remember for DOYS it took two monthes for the second album to come.. I guess if TDOYAM wasn't actually meant to be a single and was just put out in the UK and an onlin promotional thing then maybe it makes sense t do a second single worlwide in the same way as one would normally do the first. If it's being done in the UK then it might be stepping on the toes of TDOYAM though given that it will only have been released for two weeks and should still be getting radio play.

anyway, my maybe future wife (gdforever) even asked me if this story is true, it is.
i do need a real girlfriend, but i have plenty of hobbies and i take drugs so most of the parameters of not being a total internet loser are filled and i have somewhat of a life. so yeah, it's legit.

Is this case for every single? That radio stations have them 20 days before their release? Isn't these just nonsense because of the leaking? We don't have any DJ's here, or anybody that working on radio station?

It's common procedure for new bands. Beady Eye had 3 songs out there before the album. It would have been unusual if he had only 1 single out beforehand. |

Just remember that IIHAG is supposed to be the U.S debut single in place of 'TDOYAM'
so it would make sense that they'd release the two close to each other. We'll probably have IIHAG played in the U.K. anyway.

I remember when Be Here Now was about to come out, and I had a friend whose dad worked for a major Toronto radio station. He said that Oasis had sent a promo tape out to radio stations with DYKWIM, DGA, SBM and I think AATW (could be wrong on that one) weeks before BHN dropped. So yeah, it is common practice, especially if they think the album is going a few singles deep.
I remember him saying that the album was going to be incredible based on what he heard. Don't really blame him for overselling-those are all great songs. Now if Magic Pie were on that disk, it'd be a different story...

Now if Magic Pie were on that disk, it'd be a different story... well at that time oasis where on the peak of criticial succes. maybe be here now jumped the shark a bit, but in all this media hype, be here now was the greatest thing ever. don't blame your friends dad. because he was right in a sense. and even if magic had been on the promo cd, everybody would had celebrate this. they could had put the biggest shit out, it would still had been the best |

I've been following this forum for quite a while now but I've only just created an account because I thought I would share this if anyone's interested I've just emailed CD101 and asked the person what date we can expect to hear 'If I Had A Gun' being played on the radio station. They replied with.. "I heard the single about two weeks ago. We should be getting the single to play for you any day now!" I then asked how they would rate the new single and got this reply.. "9/10. Sounds like classic oasis:)" Seriously can't wait to hear this now! |

I live in England, and i drive alot with my job so i can flick through stations, R1 and R2 are the big national stations and i honestly havent heard it once taking away the first play etc, i think its a disgrace, unless there is something else behind it, surely Noels management would be pushing for some airplay over here. And because of it i dont hear anyone in general even talking about it or Noel for that matter, Oh and Bonkers i hope your right, you usually are |

Heard it on WFNX in Boston yesterday but the DJ is a huge Oasis fan. I think he played it on his own not because it was on the station's playlist.

Im aware that XFM and absolute are brill stations, but i live in Leeds and work around yorkshire in the car most of the time, so R1 and R2 are the only national stations i can get (local stations are a waste of time) I remember R2 playing alot of beady eye and even R1 gave it a few spins but havent heard a thing of Noel from either, im hoping it gets played next week when its released, im shocked at both stations so far really, i could understand with Liam but Noel has got great relationships with alot of the DJ's Does anyone know how i could somehow get Absolute or XFM in the car? |
