hey ,,your entitled to your opinion man,
i am american ,,and i think green day are punk wannabees growing up with some great punk bands in my life (alot of them american) maybe i am too hard on what is "punk" but greenday are as much punk as brittany spears is a rock and roll act, if u think they are a pop band and like songs like "time of your life" and "longview" thats cool, but dont label them as punk.
punk 2 me is the pistols,ramones,dead kennedys,sick of it all. not top 40 tunes like the above. if u like them then great, but i think the brits have a valid point most american bands are playing bland mtv music and it will take another nirvana to kick american audiences in the ass with some real tunes to earn my respect back.
