And the fact that this was intended as an ironic poll in based around the stupidity of comparisons and 4/5 of the voter chose to participate in comparison really does complete the irony.

Irony is the presentation of one idea where the underlying meaning is actually different from what the face meaning implies.

The existence of the thread is ironic (the first part) as show by the existence of my vote (the second part) Seriously. You are putting WAY too much thought into this. I got annoyed with a comparison page...so I created a thread I thought was stupid for the purpose of subverting it. It's not hard. Please don't make me talk about it anymore. It wasn't that clever and I am not saying it stands up under intense scrutiny. Geeze. Holy crap. If I knew that I'd have to explain the basics of irony to you I would have thought twice. Playpen? Where threads like these belong please. Although the ultimate irony will be now it may have to sit in the section forever because technically it's a real poll. |
