Wow, it's amazing how different a lot of these choices are, I guess there is no accounting for taste, even among Oasis fans!

As much as I like Beady Eye, the fact that there is this much disagreement, with many songs being placed in the bottom AND top, shows that the songs were probably not too good overall.

And all the rest are middle tier for me, which kind of sums up my problem with BDI.

As much as I like Beady Eye, the fact that there is this much disagreement, with many songs being placed in the bottom AND top, shows that the songs were probably not too good overall. Not true at all. The same has been happening with Noel (See Wrong Beach, Soldier Boys, Dream On, for example) and both albums are very good, IMO. |

In my opinion, no song on the album touches Four Letter Word. But for my 3 tiers go: TOP TIER: Four Letter Word, The Roller, Beat Goes On, Kill For A Dream, Wigwam, Millionaire MIDDLE TIER: Three Ring Circus, Morning Son, For Anyone, BOTTOM TIER: Two Of A Kind, Wind Up Dream, Man Of Misery, Beatles & Stones, Standing On Edge Of Noise, Bring The Light Just funny to see how my tiers have changed after listening to the album a hundred more times............... There is something of a tier system - unfortunately the lower tier is mostly all Gem songs!
One of the problems with DGSS is it's too long. 2 or 3 duffers could easily be pruned off of that record and raise the overall quality level.

One of the problems with DGSS is it's too long. I feel its a tad too long also. I think it would have been much better if it was 11 tracks.....take off Wind Up Dream and another track (possibly Wigwam and save that for the next album?) and you have improved the album imo. 51 minutes is a bit much on an album for me, unless its a concept album. |
