Back from 10 days without internet. Listened to the song for the first time. Seems like I missed a lot - What's does the 'To be continued' at the end of the video mean? - What happened on the 27th or what else did TheRiddler mean? - Any new Noel interviews (radio/tv) already? - How is the single doing in terms of airplay? - Why the hell did Liam tweet "DIDO"? Yeah and then my thoughts on it: Love the video but wasn't overly impressed about the song at first listen, reminded me a lot of TIOBI especially with the dancing at the end! Not a bad song, but nothing surprisingly good or different either. It did make me realise the difference between Noel and Beady Eye though. Noel really is a brilliant songwriter, not just a singer or a guitar player. The song is a lot more layered and has a better use of instruments than most Beady Eye songs. Don't like the album cover at all. Also, I just ordered the 7'' and shipping costs are 4€, more than the vinyl itself fgs !

We don't know what the to be continued meant. Presumably the single videos are all going to be joined somehow. (Did younotice that Noel is writing the lyrics of AKA...What a Life in the diner there?)
Noel did the interview with the NME after the press conference and there is a new interview in the new MOJO magazine. His first radio interview will be the XFM breakfast show with Danny Wallace Tuesday morning
TDOYAM was the highest new-entry into the airplay chart (36 or something)
Liam hasn't explained. Presumably he meant that Noel was pop and not very rock 'n roll.
Also there are rumors that the US @ the very least will be getting IIHAG as a single.

songbirdsally, keep listening to the song. It's a grower. Yes it's definitely a grower...in my case because of the freshness I just kept listening to it over and over again, and found that I enjoyed it more each time. Eventually I reached a plateau where I realized I wouldn't enjoy it any more than I currently do, and stopped listening a couple days ago and haven't bothered since. So my overall conclusion is that it is definitely a nice song, but I don't particularly see it as having much long-term potential for replay value.

The single has been well recieved in the UK & should do well chart wise. Xfm, Absolute & Radio 2 have it on the A-list apparently.
Tickets for the Tour should go on sale this Friday, pending an interview tomorrow on Xfm (As Sir Bonkers pointed out) with Noel tomorrow.

I'm going to download it from Itunes, buy the vinyl and get the CD. Gonna try and help Noel as much as possible with the chart position.
It's the least I can do.

I'm surely hoping they'll do fine too, but buying it 3 times is just ridiculous.. It's not like it's goint to dramatically change the charts anyway

Half of the people on here didn't even bother to buy the Beady Eye singles. I'm not expecting them to suddenly buy the NG single 3 times. And it's not like we're hundreds on here either

I think Noel will have a bit of a leg up over BDI on singles sales because of the increased availability of physical formats.
Presumably he'll be able to sell more vinyls than BDI as they aren't limited stock (obviously he must've learned from the success of BDI in the vinyl market)
Plus he's got a CD single which those of us that don't collect vinyl but appreciate having physical copies of music for their collections will get.

BE singles were available as a limited edition and a no numbered version plus, i bet nowadays more digital singles are sold than cd singles so, if noel sells more it will be cus what he is releasing is better

I'm sure. But all other things being equal having an extra format can only mean increased sales, I'd assume. Maybe not a HUGE amount but some. It may be the lowest selling format but they are still sales.
Personally I got both the digital bundle and the CD format because I want the hard copy but I want the songs to show up in my e-mail inbox the day of the release so I don't have to wait like I had to for everything I ordered from BDI. I was willing to pay an extra $3.39 for convenience. I'm sure I can't be alone. And some would have bought both the vinyl and CD formats. Every fan that buys multiple formats means doubling or tripling the sales figures compared to the people that buying it.
But you're absolutely right that in the end it will also have a lot to do with the quality of the output.

Where are these and how can I get my hands on them? I was very unhappy that I didn't get to buy the BE singles. I thought they were only limited edition and gone for good.

A standard version of the 7" will be available to purchase through select retailers from 11th July."

I haven't bought the digital version as I expect the CD & vinyl to arrive the day before the digital is available. If they don't arrive on the Saturday then I'll buy the download on the Sunday, out of pure impatience.
