When Beady Eye first came out I said that their album was shocking and I drew up a Noel sung oasis song verses Beady Eye comparision. At the time I said that Noel would be laughing at Liam.
Then I started listening to Beady Eye a lot more - FLW, Wigwam, beatles and stones and TBGO really grew on me, I haven't listen to Oasis for a while. Wigwam being my favourite.
I've been listening to TDOYAM all day long none stop, playing the intro riff on my guitar and the chorus is stuck in my head on repeat, I've just listened to a couple of Beady Eye songs and they aren't in the same league. EOTR, IIHAG, STC, RM and the rest of the soundchecks in demo form are better than Beady Eye. Not that Beady eye are bad - just no where in the same league, as far as songwriting and good old catchy chorus writing as Noel is.
I just hope HFB is recieved well by the public and he gets the chart recognition he deserves

I went off them in April to be honest. Hopefully their next album will get me back into them a bit more.

Noel is a world class songwriter.
For all of the bluster, the other three simply aren't.

I went off them in April to be honest. Hopefully their next album will get me back into them a bit more. Went off them after a couple of weeks. Not that the album is bad - it's just that the BDI songs are quite instant, but don't unfold. I'm not saying that Noel write complex songs, but at least more so than BDI, which is why I can listen to his DOYS-songs three years later and still enjoy them, even though I didn't enjoy them at first listen as much as I did with BDI: s songs. And with TDOYAM and the amazing 17 minute soundcheck (A Simple Game of Genius) there is not much reason going back to BDI when you're in the mood for the Gallaghers.

I am in the same boat as the lot of you. BDI has kinda run its course with me and I rarely turn on a tune of theirs anymore. Noel's new tune has life to me that BDI material lacks. Dunno why exactly.

To me Noel/HFB and Beady Eye are on the same footing. No doubt Noel is a more accomplished and better songwriter, but I enjoy each group's offerings.

I still enjoy a few Beady Eye songs. I've never warmed up to TBGO or For Anyone but I still dig Wigwam, The Morning Son, 3RC, B&S and WOMR. The Roller's good in small doses as well.
None of their songs have ever hit me like TDOYAM though. The closest would be Wigwam. I liked that song quite a bit on first listen, but it still didn't have the immediate impact that TDOYAM had on me.
From a musicianship and composition standpoint I would be surprised if Noel's album doesn't demolish DGSS. Hopefully BDI come back strong with the 2nd record.
Really glad Oasis split considering we'll be getting 4 new albums in the span of 18 months. None of us would've predicted this.

Objectively...Noel writes the better songs, we're near consensus on that. But in my opinion the Gallagher brothers are drifting so far apart musically that it's pointless to even try and compare them.
When I'm alone and want something more thoughtful and really want to listen to music, I am more likely to put on a Noel track. When I'm out with a couple friends and want something light and in your face and immediate, BDI does the trick just fine.
Hence why Oasis was such a great band...you'd get the best of both worlds from a single artist.

Spot on there, when out with friends Beady eye would be first choice over a noel track

It had nothing to do with TDOYAM
I had been listening less and less the past few months. Hadn't made a point to listen to a BDI song in weeks before the NG single

I've never got into BDI at all. noel's stuff sounds more promising.

looking forward to Noel's album and all but no, that hasn't made stopped enjoying BDI at all. In fact, I feel like BDI has a bit of everything for all kinds of tastes. just my opinion though. Sometimes i feel like listening to a rocker so i play 4LW or 3RC, then if im just chillin' i can listen to Wigwam or WOMR, then there is ITBWAB which i've been listening to constantly since it came out.

when i'm feel like listening to a rocker, i wouldn't ever play BDI. early oasis is rockin in that case. but if i'm in the mood for a rockin tune, i'll play led zeppelin or ac/dc.
to be fair, beady eyes production on the album is much more pop than rock

We were talking about BDI and NHFB.

Again it's pointless comparing those two. I reckon I read somewhere Noel stated that BDI is a rock n roll band and I'm a songwriter! And for the record I still like BDI tunes! TDOYNM is completely different to BDI tunes. I don't understand why would one compare them
