We'll either hear If Had a Gun or The Good Rebel. Then again, most of us already own half the album in demos and soundchecks, so if you get antsy, just head to your iTunes library...

I say we will be getting The Good Rebel next with IIHAG not too long after I'd agree with that. I suspect we'll hear The Good Rebel a lot sooner than Beady Eye's b-sides with it being released on CD. Everything points towards IIHAD as the next single though.

It seems evident to me that we'll get another single before the release of the album. Most artists always have a single out a few weeks before the album comes out. TDOYAM comes out on the 21st Aug, which is far too early. It will probably chart top 10, then drop out of the top 40 a few weeks later - I believe this release to be essentially the 'free download' taster single, even though we have to pay for it!
At the beginning of Sep I think the next single will be announced. The fact that Noel is writing down the lyrics to 'What a Life' in the video and the video leaves us with 'to be continued...' leads me to believe this will be the next single.
From what I've been reading about this track, its like nothing Noel has ever done before, and is probably more of the kick ass/ artistic statement we all hoped Noel would make with his comeback single. Radio 1 may even be in awe of it. The album will storm to No1
If I had a Gun, seems to be Noel's ace up his sleeve, hence the American release. Once the albums been released and it begins to slide down the charts, Noel will drop this as his next single in the UK, probably about December time.

I have a feeling that 4-song promo CD is actually all the planned singles.

Why have your first American single, come out a month after the album. If IIHAG is the first US single, then the first airplay will be, at least a couple weeks before the album is released in America. I think IIHAG, will be a US & Worldwide single. Makes no sense to use your "best" song, only in America.

Isn't that a bit risky. Promo CD's can be leaked...why would you risk a single leak compromising every one of your singles?

I wasn't suggesting IIHAG would be a US only single. I was saying, that that song probably has more potential of being a hit in America -hence why there releasing it as a 1st single over there. Noel could release a single of him boiling a kettle and it would get airplay over here!!! I just think IIHAG will be released over here a few months after the albums come out, to help prop it up in the charts.
You don't release your best songs straight off the bat if you're guaranteed to have a No1 album. Of courese I'm just assuming IIHAG is the classic we all hope it will be!

Yes, but you're saying that the single will be released in December. A full month after the release of the album in America. It makes no sense to release it to "prop' it up in the charts. If that's you're first single, then you have to have airplay before the release of the album. Singles are used to promote. If release it a full month after the release of the album, then you're basically releasing an album with zero promotion, if you release it like that. Because TDOYAM & What A Life won't be played that much in the US. It's not a question of releasing you're best song off the bat, it's releasing any song. You won't have any release (if IIHAG is the first release in the US), by the time the album comes, by your timeline.

Spanlei
I think you need to go an read my previous posts again...
I predicted that 'What a Life' will be the next UK single. Probably early October release. The Album will go straight to No1, then I think he'll release IIHAG a few months later in the UK. I'm not really talking about the US. I hear IIHAG is going to be the first single over there...So I was just making the point that it probably makes good commerical sense to put your strongest single out first over there, as Noel isn't guranteed to have a high charting album, upon release.

Umm, I did read your post. And you put "he'll drop it around December time". You're saying that IIHAG is his ace up his sleeve for the US, yet you have it coming out a full month after the November release date. You're not making any sense. Here's your quote: "If I had a Gun, seems to be Noel's ace up his sleeve, hence the American release. Once the albums been released and it begins to slide down the charts, Noel will drop this as his next single in the UK, probably about December time." So it makes sense to put out your strongest commercial single in December (the first single for the US). A month after you've released the album in the US, the very country that that single is suppose to promoting the album for? That's some bad handling of your strongest commercial single. I'm just confused of your timeline. WHat A Life for October(which makes sense), but IIHAG for December (makes no sense).

We will definitely get another UK single that drops before the album.
I don't know what to make of the US not getting this single even if they don't expect it to go down massive on N. American radio. Because I wouldn't think that they'd release a US only single because it would have to be a pretty cracking single to have a chance in the States and it would be a waste not to have a tune that strong as a UK single. Which means they won't even play it until a while after the August release of TFOYAM.
Hope Noel gives us a hint about release plans on the XFM interview. (is that confirmed btw? I saw it on the board but it could've been a wind up)
I think that IIHAG will be released as a worldwide single first week of October.
I don't think that we'll hear any more music until mid-September.

Sorry Spaneli, I've just twigged that you're from America! I'm new to this site! I'm talking about the UK charts. And IIHAG 'propping it up over here'. Sorry for any confusion.

It only makes sense for him, to start doing to promotion "publicly". And I agree. October release date seems the most likely.
