Not having a pop at anyone here but I genuinely can't understand how anyone can love Oasis and not like archetypal Oasis songs like Cigs and Alcohol, Some Might Say and Whatever. Those songs ARE Oasis. Some Might Say and Whatever are great but Cigs And Alc is just lumbering all over the place and I always get the sense of fat skin headed beer bellied man wailing it out - so that makes it shit for me. The worst track from Definitely Maybe. It's certainly raw but is nowhere close to the rawness of Bring It On Down or Columbia.

It's alright but it's always been more about the lyrics than the actual tune. Whereas Bring it On Down and Columbia are proper tunes - BIOD has the lyrics as well.

Cigarettes & Alcohol is the epitome of Liam's Def Maybe era voice, and the first time he dragged a word into more syllables than what would be deemed correct in the Oxford dictionary. I used to think it was a bit of a chore to listen through until I fully understood the importance of the songs political intent, a little primal and simple but malicious nevertheless. The pre-chorus is my favourite part of the song, I love the escapism and the power, "You could wait for a lifetime! To spend your days in the sunshine! You may as well do the white line!" But each to their own. I apologize for the unneccessary lecture.

I don't like the chorus to C + A, but agree the part before it is class.
And some of the verses.

My top three that I can't into - more over play and so boredom of them more than anything else:
1. Cigarettes & Alcohol 2. Morning Glory (still no idea how that was on STC and Whatever/Listen Up/Don't Go Away/Rockin' Chair wasn't) 3. Little By Little

I love Roll With It, especially the end part, the last minute or so.
Just a great feel good tune.

Morning Glory (still no idea how that was on STC and Whatever/Listen Up/Don't Go Away/Rockin' Chair wasn't) 3. Little By Little Morning Glory could be the most robust and assaulting song of the 90s. I would put it in the top ten Oasis songs of all time. Think of it from a fresh approach, as if your listening to it for the first time again. It will fucking blow you away, it did to me. As for Rockin' Chair, people have always overestimated that song. The fact that it was a b-side seems to strengthen its reputation into mythical proportions. Had 'Roll With It', 'Hey Now', 'She's Electric' or 'Hello' been b-sides, I'm sure we would all have been lobbying for their inclusions on the album and gobsmacked at why they weren't included. If 'Rockin' Chair' was on MG, it would easily be seen as one of the weakest tracks on the album.

1. Little by Little - "we the people..." Enough said 2. Let There be Love - Boring as fuck 3. Gas Panic - Don't hate it. I think it's some of Noels best lyircs, but man does it drag on.
Roll With It would be my #1, but I don't feel like it's overrated at all. Most fans are aware of it's mediocrity.

Cigarettes & Alcohol isn't one of my favorite tunes but when you are in the right mood to listen to that song there is nothing better. It sums up a certain mind set perfectly.

Wonderwall ... I just *ucking hate this song! I wish NG go back in time and give this song to Robbie Williams or U2 or some reggae artist or whatever, I don't care.
