There are a few interesting things about this release that make me think that Noel's cards may not all be on the table yet.
1) theriddlers hint, which will be July 27th if we figured right, is still unfulfilled
2) The snowflake beside the song on the Radio 2 monitor. Chris Evan mentioned it, said he'd NEVER seen that icon before. and immediately said that it wasn't something they were supposed to talk about. It couldn't be as simple as and indicator that it was UK only release (which is the only attempt at an explanation that I have read) because A) that is hardly a secret and B) Evans would have seen UK only releases before.
3) There is no presale yet for the single even though they put the album on sale already. Maybe there is going to be something more on there that they haven't told us yet? You'd think they would have put that on preorder right after we heard it...particularly since they made a point to open the store when the single debuted...
Have I just gone mad from thinking too much? Be honest. Have I simply turned into a conspiracy nut where Noel is concerned?

A "*" could refer to just about anything. Perhaps it was a footnote saying they couldn't play it before 8:15? I wouldn't think too much about it.

You got some points there, gdforever (as usual), but what are you expecting? The first AA single being released tomorrow? I don't know. Alternate version maybe? Maybe release one to radio with more staight forward production not too different from Oasis so as not to spook the fanboys then another that's farther afield? We know it can't be anything like a surprise double A-side because we have the artwork. But if it were two versions of the same song? I dunno just spitballing. Honestly I have no idea. Just saying. Why on earth would the BBC need to know if a track was a UK only release? It's got nothing to do with them!  Suffice to say the "snowflake" is just an internal thing for BBC Radio 2's own use - probably just an IT thing. |

I think I can clear this up.
Noel is Snowflake. Snowflake -> Earthquake ->Shakermake(r) Obvious.
Chris Evans had to keep it secret but Snowflake is so worried about piracy that he's had his album etched into his leg and the only way to listen is to pay for a cab to pick him up so he can come round your house and lay his leg on your turntable.
There are no pre-orders of the new single as it's being released via packets of Shredded Wheat. One random Shreddy per pack contains the entire track and, when eaten, transmits TDOYAM directly into the breakfasting listener's brain via his/her teeth in a process called 'Freaky teeth' (not a song title as previously thought)

Snowflake is an phonetic anagram for Nowl-s-Fake = Noel is Fake. This could mean that the new album is not from Noel, but from substitute Noel. Perhaps Noel is not alive anymore wich explains the new band name High Flying Birds and the name of the first song the death of you and me!?!! When you listen to the beginning of TDOYAM backwards you clearly hear: "Noel is dead, I miss him, miss him, miss him."
Or it indeed was a footnote ;D

Ahhh gdforever I just got over the anticipation of TDOYAM and now this?! I'd like to get a real announcement about the US single, that'd be lovely...or tour dates.
Really want to know what that snowflake is, though. Could be a reference to how the song has been A-listed before it had gotten radio airplay, as Gordon Smart had said that was pretty rare in his brief review...

I do think you might be overanalyzing just a tad bit, gdforever.
Personally, I would just pretend that nothing is going to happen on July 27th, the snowflake is meaningless, and they're just getting the finishing touches on the single before they start pre-sales. Because assuming there is some big grand reason for everything, you're bound to be disappointed if it turns out to be anything less.
