it's just annoying to read all this silly bashing. i need just for myself a thread which shows that this song is brilliant.
i have enough of this dissatisfied talking about this song. just look at this song as what it is. just a very good british song by mr noel gallagher.

There isn't actually that much bashing. Just think back to the BTL reception. That was crazy. It's been surprisingly tame IMO.

Every time I take a break from it and listen to some other tunes, it sounds so great when it comes back on. It's continuing to grow on me and I liked it from the start.

I agree, it's a good song, but it did just come out. BTL, to me, was pretty lame as soon as I heard it... still is honestly, but TDOYAM still has that 'new' factor. I believe over time it'll still be a good song, but with the rest of the album surrounding it, I don't know... It's gonna have some competition. As far as a classic goes, I wouldn't stretch it THAT far. lol

Hence the word "possible".

I think in terms of comparing this with the quality of what might be on the album, I think it will be a middle road track. Which is great. Because this a good song, so were going to get about 4 or 5 songs better than this, maybe 2 or 3 on the same level, and 2 or 3 that are little less quality than this. Which what I have expected. For me it's a 8/10, and I think it will stay like that (in terms of it standing alone.) And I agree that it won't be a classic, but it will stand as a very very good song.

I'm gonna go out on a bit of a limb and predict it's the weakest on the album. From the interviews that have come up it seems that the AKA stuff is gonna be pretty special and then we've got the 4 we've heard and I think all of them will be excellent. That leaves Dream On which there are rumblings about that being a single and then Standing on the wrong shore (who knows what that's about.
Also, Noel has the material and how swaggeringly Noely would it be to release a middle of the road to back end tune as the opening single.
Call me crazy, but I've got a feeling that he would't have been so secretive in the process if he weren't sure he was going to drop an absolute bomb on us all.

I'm sure Noel was taking a lesson from BDI who more or less pretended to still be Oasis PR wise...big talk, eh music videos, etc. I think this could be one of the more special albums I've heard, all told. If I got 10 songs of the quality of TDOYAM, I'd be ecstatic.
Also, has anyone noticed that this is going to be a proper belter live? After about my second listen this morning I was feeling the need to sing along in the chorus. Loudly.

It's not been bashed, most people have said 8/10 which is spot on i think. The only people disappointed are the ones expecting the second coming of DLBIA or something.

I think this is the type of up-tempo song Noel will be doing. He's not going to do a bash-it-out song like FLW. That type of song works for Liam...it wouldn't have the impact with a Noel vocal.
And Noel always put out a more uptempo kind of song first. DLBIA would never have been a lead single. The ballads are the 2nd or 3rd single with Noel generally.
I do hope he moves out of the Dead End Street zone now for the rest of the record though.

I'm really liking it just now.An 8 out of 10 is the most I'll give, anything higher would suggest it's better than RM or STC and it's absolutely not.Based on half the album's songs that's already been circulating for years...I feel safe deeming this as one of the weaker ones(but not that weak). I really dig DG,SS but TDOYAM is better than half or more of the songs on it.But FLW,Wigwam,Ms would defeat it imo!

really loving it. its a great song, it continues to get better with spins but to be honest I don't even think it'll be one of the top four songs on the album. Like spaneli said I think it'll be a middle of the road type of song on the album which it superb news. That melody in the chorus is wonderful. Its a 8/10 for me.

I love it-this is my first time feeling such hype for a song to be released, and I wasn't let down, vocals are great, the lyrics and amazing sound. I've got it on my iPod and listened to it on my walk to the store and got a chance to really enjoy it listening to it myself loved it more-it's also great walking music

It's got to be said out of all of Noel gallaghers songs this is defiantly the most recent.

So people that find this a disappointing "Noel by the numbers" track are ones that thought Noel was going to write another classic? Rubbish! I was expecting Noel to continue off where he had left Oasis and he slotted right back in there. This track really isn't anything special and TBH so far, the reception on non Oasis forums has been incredibly mixed.
