I would put it on level with the best of BDI (FLW, TR, WOMR) I don't know that I would put any BDI song significantly above it right now. FLW, I might down the road though i really don't get 'the Roller' love. besides being a COMPLETE rip-off, it exposes Liam's complete inability to hold notes. 'call me the roller, uh un...........'. i know, it goes with the song, and that almost makes it more cringe-worthy. i love you all. God bless. 'call me the roller, uh un...........' alright. i'm going back into 'goofball' mode, too much for seriousness lately.

The Roller is also a little bit too cheesy for me, with the "You didn't know what to say" intro.

I can't say which ones are objectively "better" but I can say which ones I enjoy more.
I like Four Letter Word, Roller, Anyone, Kill for a Dream, Wigwam, Beat Goes On, and Morning Sun better than TDOYAM. I also like Outside My Room and In the Bubble more.
I like TDOYAM about equally to Beatles and Stones, Bring the Light, Edge of the Noise and Three Ring.
I like TDOYAM more than Millionaire and Wind Up Dream. I also like it more than Man of Misery and Two of a Kind.
I'm also beginning to realize that it's not the actually songwriting that has me bummed about TDOYAM. It's a well written tune. Probably better written than many of the BDI tracks I prefer. It's something a little less tangible. A certain spirit behind the tunes. BDI, at their best, make me feel young again. TDOYAM makes me feel very old.
Hoping that's not the case with the rest of the album. We shall see.

let's see, a lot of this has to do with the fact that i think Liam's voice is in whole different league due to its uniqueness, he's still one of the best singers in rock after all. Also, this is just my opinion. stupid disclaimer (i know) but you can never be too sure with some of the crazies that post on this forums.
DGSS songs > DOYAM:
3RC 4LW TMS WIgwam For Anyone
just as good: TBGO KFAD Millionaire

I love some of the songs on DGSS. Buuuuut, after hearing Noel's song, I genuinely find it hard to listen to the album now, because I've heard them music I like. Not that I dislike BDI, but it just doesn't age in my heart. The Morning Son and, MAYBE, The Roller hold their own

How he sing's "Roller" ties into how he later says "blow me over". I think it was down for stylistic reasons here.

You must have a very patient family with a lot of time on their hands. And plus, my comment appears to have gone over your head. I wasn't calling you a Beady Eye fanboy, I was just saying what you were saying to the rest of us only in reverse. (think about it)

you were just saying that i was saying.... ugh... reading your posts is almost as boring as listening to HHL lol
j/k... look man, forget all that shit, it's a new day. let's hope Noel does well in the charts, even if it's just in the UK and that the rest of the album has some true gems, im sure it'll have better stuff than TDOYAM.

reading your posts is almost as boring as listening to HHL lol Funny you should say that. I have DOYS on and GOYHHL was on about 5 minutes ago. I still don't see the hatred for it. I'd much rather listen to it than a lot of other 21st Century Oasis songs...like LJ, PYMWYMI, LBL, SIL, PAITM, KTDA, AGN...etc etc... I really like that track. Pity the album version doesn't sound more like this though

Pity the album version of HHL doesn't sound more like THIS.
This is the song HHL is based off of, and it's an amazing song.

I like the Roller and Four Letter Word more, the rest, with the exception of the Beat Goes On, don't come close. The real loser from Noel's new single is Millionaire, it used to be my favourite BDI track and after hearing TDOYAM I just cant listen to it anymore.

I mean, some people think Sum41 is hottest shit on earth but come on... does that mean that band is better than most? no, in fact it's probably worse than most. but it's all relative like all things. As for that version, of course i had heard it, i watched the documentary and saw a bunch of the vids on YT. That version is not as terrible as the one on the album, it doesn't the autotune crap and there's more depth in it, if you will but i still find it extremely boring. Gosh, i hate that song with a passion. it's just that damn bad.

I don't believe it deserves the hatred it gets around here from certain people but I still have no feelings towards it. It just sounds.....forced/fake? (Not sure how to describe it)

One thing DGSS has over NGHFB is the album art.
It isn't even debatable. So many creative, cool people out there and Noel decides on that as his debut cover. Such a shame.

I played the best songs on DGSS after listening to TDOYAM and I still enjoyed the DGSS more. I think I've racked up about 5 or 6 plays or Noels new one so far, when The Roller came out that figure was more like 20. I guess I just prefer rock and roll rather than Noel by numbers.
I'm really hoping it's not the best thing he's got on his album.

We don't know what Noel'l High Flying Birds album will sound like, though we have heard several songs in some way shape or form. Now, when BTL was released i was very concerned, a lot of people(myself included) were very underwhelmed/disappointed, but most of all, fearful of what DGSS might sound like. thankfully it turned out to be a very good album. I'm sure Noel's album will also be good but if he stays on this route(Idle/Falling Down), i will be very unhappy. Some will love it no doubt, but i will not, im not saying i will dislike it but i wont be overly excited about it either.
