better FLW TRC
equals TR MS
less than the rest.
and this song probably isn't even in the top 5 for this album. It's certainly better than BTL.

I actually enjoy Noel's voice more than that of Liam's, so I find listening to DGSS kind of annoying at times. However,
FLW is a great rock song. But after that, the album really does nothing for me. I enjoy it, but don't go out of my way to listen to it.

TR is definitely catchier but it drags. MS has got heart. Personally, TRC is the best song on that album, FLW is great, but there's something missing on DGSS, and Liam's voice just doesn't have the effect on me it used to.

Hang on, how can you say this song isn't even in the top 5 of the album when this is the first release? I'm sorry but there at least 6 songs of DGSS that I prefer to this.

c'mon, we can be all "Oh, we can't judge yet because we haven't heard it yet" but bs aside, Everybody's on the Run, Record Machine and If I had a gun are all going to be phenomenal. Sure, there's a chance the album will be top heavy like DOYS but we can judge...a little.

Then coming to the conclusion the album is going to be amazing and the new single isn't anywhere near the best on the album? Right. Oh, and for the record, I thought the Record Machine demo was mediocre. Like I said, I'll judge the album when the actual finished album is released, all I can judge from Noel at the minute is one decent but unspectacular effort.

This is all purely subjective stuff here. My favorite BDI song is Wigwam and other than The Roller, I can't see any other songs reaching the level of TDOYAM. WOMR is a great song, but I don't feel like its as good as the previously mentioned tracks. I also like TRC, but not enough to put it in the top tunes between Noel and BDI thus far.
Based on many of the comments I've seen it seems a lot of people are hoping for Oasis-style rockers, so they prefer songs like FLW. While I like those types of songs, I also thoroughly enjoy songs like TIOBI so a song like TDOYAM is always welcome in my eyes.

Well, I said "probably" so I'm not stating it as fact. I just think it's more likely that the soundcheck songs are going to get better rather than worse. Also, I think ignition likes to release midrange songs as opening singles i.e. bring the light, shock of the lightening.

I'm sorry but there at least 6 songs of DGSS that I prefer to this. Don't apologize for having an opinion I totally disagree, of course. Apart from FLW and the slide guitar solo in MS, I think this is streets ahead of anything on DGSS.

Comparing rock songs like FLW, TRC or even TR to Noel's work (which is obviously an attempt to create something new) doesn't make any sense. You could say that Wigwam or TBGO are closer to TDOYAM, but overall they're too different to decide which is better.

Funny you mention that because I was excited when Noel said there wasn't a solo until the 6th track, because that means he's doing his acoustic thing, which is long overdue.

I like a bit of ooompf to my Beady Eye. though yeah, you're right; everyone has a right to their own opinion.

To me Beady Eye are essentially a less inhibited Oasis and Noel and HFB are now a singer songwriter group(sounds weird I know) rather than rock band. It's kind of the best of both worlds. That said, I think Noel is just way more talented.

I'd rank a number of DGSS songs ahead of The Death Of..., but I'd also rank the majority of the album ahead of Bring The Light.

The Roller, Wigwam and The Beat Goes On if I'm being honest

No BDI song is even close. There's a reason Noel wrote "every Oasis song that mattered."

I would put it on level with the best of BDI (FLW, TR, WOMR)
I don't know that I would put any BDI song significantly above it right now. FLW, I might down the road though

Since I'm not a Beady Eye fan, I shouldn't comment on this thread. But, I want to reach 100 posts after 5-6 of beings on this site. So, call me The Troller.... ah ah.

TDOYAM gave me the same kind of feeling that The Roller and FLW did when they came out. Maybe a bit better, because it does have a soaring chorus, which neither of those two BDI tracks really has. That said, I like them all for very different reasons.

All I know is I'm glad that Beady Eye focused on guitars and Noel is doing his thing (since Oasis last two albums). We won't have any rockers like Four Letter Word on Noel's album in the same way we don't have any song like TDOYAM on DGSS. That's brilliant!

I'd have it third behind TBGO and Wigwam.

TDOYAM is just higher quality songwriting, there's so much more to it then any of the Beady Eye tunes. However, even with that in mind, the rush of Four Letter Word about ties it in my eyes. The rest fall flat in comparison, though The Roller is closer than the others.
I just feel like DGSS is too rushed and the quality of songs falter because of it. I know it's something to capture "lightening in a bottle" and all that, but even Definitely Maybe was recorded three times. I'll wait for their second album before I can really compare the two.

its better than anything on DGSS. The only songs that come close are TMS, Wigwam, TR and FLW. But i'll be honest none of them made me feel the way TDOYM does and I haven't played a BDI tune this much and its only been out a day.
