Anyone else love them?
It's far more romantic than I was expecting, with the whole "run away together" aspect.
I know some of us were worried about the lyrics from some of the Facebook/Twitter previews, but it turns out it all fits the whimsical nature of the song.
Excellent job Noel.

Agreed, they are great. Especially in the chorus.

He glossed over the weird bits pretty well...namely the ones from twitter. lol
I like them though.
He managed to get a soul and a sunshine in there. Noel loves his catch words.

I think I've got most of it:
High tide – summer in the city The kids are looking pretty But isn’t it a pity that the sunshine is followed by thunder With thoughts of going under and is it any wonder what I see
Calling out to me I seem to spend my whole life runnin’ From people who would be the death of you and me Cos I can feel the storm cloud soaking up my soul
High tide – life is getting faster No one has the answer I try to face the day then in a new way The bottom of a bottle is every man's apostle Let’s run away together, you and me
Forever we’d be free Free to spend our whole lives runnin’ From people who would be the death of you and me Cos I can feel the storm clouds soaking up my soul
Let’s run away to see Forever we’d be free, free to spend our whole lives runnin’ From people who would be the death of you and me Cos I can feel the storm clouds comin’
I’m watching my TV, or is it watching me? I see another new day dawning It’s rising over me and my mortality And I can feel the storm clouds soaking up my soul.

My best shot at it.......
High tide, summer in the city The kids are looking pretty But isn't it a pity that the sunshine Is followed by the thunder, with thoughts of going under And is it any wonder
Why the sea is calling out to me I seem to spend my whole life running From people who would be The death of you and me Cause I can feel the storm clouds Sucking up my soul
High tide, life is getting faster And no one has the answer I try to face the day though In a new way A bottom of a bottle Cuz every man's a puzzle Let's run away together You and me Forever we'd be free Free to spend our whole lives running From people who would be The death of you and me Cause I can feel the storm clouds Sucking up my soul
Let's run away and see Forever we'd be free Free to spend our whole lives running From people who would be The death of you and me Cause I can feel the storm clouds coming
Watching my tv, or is it watching me? I see another new day dawning It's rising over me, my mortality And I can feel the storm clouds Sucking up my soul

The lyrics take this tune from pretty good to pretty special imo. Exactly how I feel. If it was just a song about the summertime or being lazy, like TIOBI, I wouldn't like it nearly as much. The daydreamy positiveness of this song though really resonates with me in a way that warms my heart.

These lyrics look good, but I think the one line is "The bottom of a bottle is every man's apostle"

does anyone have already have the chords? mkoasis has worked them out in CBGB's. These lyrics look good, but I think the one line is "The bottom of a bottle is every man's apostle" I think you're right there, I'll edit my post.

First time in a while the lyrics actually elevate the song. You can probably add another .5 to your rating after reading through them. Very nice

Looks like I'm a bit late, but here's my dig at it:
High tides Summer in the city Kids are looking pretty Isn't it a pity That the sunshine Is followed by thunder The thoughts of going under And is it any wonder
Why the sea Is calling out to me I seem to spend my whole life Running From people who could be The death of you and me 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds Sucking up my soul
High tides Life is getting faster No one has the answer I'm trying to face the day Not in a mean way The bottom of a bottle 'Cause every man's a possum Let's run away together
You and me Forever we'll be free Free to spend our whole lives Running From people who would be The death of you and me 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds Sucking up my soul
Let's run away to see Forever we'll be free Free to spend our whole lives Running From people who would be The death of you and me 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds
Coming I'm watching my TV Or is it watching me? I see another new day Dawning It's rising over me My mortality And I can feel the storm clouds Sucking up my soul

"But isn’t it a pity that the sunshine is followed by thunder..." Nice SMS reference And although it might be a controversial statement...I dare say those are a bit better than LG's Bring The Light lyrics.

'Cause every man's a possum I actually laughed out loud I thought that'd be obvious, BTL having some of the worst lyrics ever produced by the Gallaghers.
