2 from the 90's and 1 that he butchered live. He couldn't sing it. Forget about it. yeah... IOT sure sounds shitty on the album. Try reading. I said live. We have enough Oasis songs that Liam couldn't pull off live without adding this one in. Besides...Liam delivery would have been all wrong. It's a Noel tune to a T

Aaaaaaaand THAT's why you have negative karma, not because you "tell it like it is". It's because you think your opinion is way more important than it is. (You should probably try to be a little less abrasive so you don't get laughed off this forum like you did the IGN boards) IGN boards? when was this? anyways, apparently you understand why i have a -19 karma. It'd be interesting if you could tell us why your karma is 4 x worse that mine LOL talk about being laughed off. you're just not taking the hints bro LMAo You have -19 karma because you tout your opinion as if it's gospel and call people names that don't agree with you (i.e. fuckwad, loser). You're a disrespectful, immature wannabe internet-Liam. You brag about "telling it like it is" as if no one has ever heard of honesty before, but no one ever has an issue with your honesty, it's your poor attitude. Mine's so low because I offended 1 psycho on here with multiple accounts that dropped my karma every day for 2 weeks...not that I even need to explain it to you. But yeah...keep lol'ing and calling people names, that's what the internet's for, hilarious tough guy.

Aside from being way too short it's fantastic!
Btw on the vocals, I think this would've been best with Noel and Liam sharing the vocals at the same time like on Bag It Up anyone else agree?

I still cant believe the amount of arguments we get on here. We're all huge fans of Noel/Liam but the bickering is a joke.
Its like we're in some Take That forum and someone said Howards fitter than Robbie or something which has caused world war 3

i've hada couple listens and I think it's a 7/10 song... just as good as anything that's on DBTT or DOYS... good song. Just at first glance and listen it's not what I thought it was, but I was expecing WTTSMG stuff... it isn't that, but it's good people... very good... very cool, fresh don't quite agree on the rating but other than that, it's exactly what i said in my initial post. Not too sure it's as good as "anything" that's on DBTT, that's a great fucking album and there's a couple of excellent songs on it, some are Noel's some aren't. This song is good but it's not THAT good. I kinda knew we weren't getting WTSMG stuff, but i was hoping for something, ANYTHING that was at least as good as some of the better stuff on HEathen Chemistry or SOTSOG. Again, this is just one song. Let's hope the rest of the album is way better than this.

I'm not going to go off topic and compare it to Beady Eye as I'm sure there will be countless threads for that!
The song - Good to see a wide range of views and opinions. I'll be honest, I was hoping for something like Falling Down, but... I thought it was great, really like it a lot and I can see it being a grower on some people.
I agree with the person who said they love the way Noel sings the chorus, I have to agree - it really sounds heartfelt.
Looking forward to the album and tour.

GTFO. lol i haven't --for the record-- insulted anyone else. and yeah, i believe your story about you laughable karma count. peace.

I was hoping for something like Falling Down, but... Were you expecting something like Falling Down because of the background music from the trailer or is that just what you were hoping for? That background music had a FD/SOTSOG vibe. I wonder if it's The Good Rebel. Either way, I think TDOYAM is not quite classic status, but it's definitely very good. And with that it's time for me to go to bed.

Anyone dig the lyrics? I have this so far, I can't dig two lines, (it's on brackets), anyone can help??
High tide, summer in the city the kids are looking pretty but isn't it a pitty that the sunshine is followed thunder the thoughts of going under and is it any wonder why the
Sea, is calling out to Me, I seem to spend my whole life running from people who can Be, the death of you and me, 'cause I can feel the storm clouds sucking up my soul
High tide Life is getting faster No one has the answer I'm trying to face the day In a new way (the botton line is _____) Cos every man's a puzzle Let's run away together you and...
Forever we'll be free, free to spend our whole lives running from people who would Be, the death of you and Me, 'cause I can feel the storm clouds sucking up my soul
It's more the way to see Forever we'll be free, free to spend our whole lives running from people who would Be, the death of you and Me, 'cause I can feel the storm clouds coming I'm watching my TV, or is it watching me? I see it on a new day dawning (space is over me) on my mortality and I can feel the storm clouds sucking up my soul

I really love the song, been listening to it non-stop, but I think it's way too soon to start calling it a classic or compare it to Noel's previous work. I remember when DGSS leaked some people here rated The Beat Goes On higher than The Masterplan!!

it's funny how people say it's nothing like the classics. i don't want to make that comparison either but i can honestly see a lot in this song that reminds me of the older tunes. people keep forgetting Oasis equaled Liam's bravado and Noel's pop sensibilities filtered through a huge wall of guitar noise. that's the reason why some of the hard hitting tunes on DM still hit harder than anything they've done since, and it's also why people seem to have adored WTSMG when they turned down the rock.
in any case, it'll be interesting to see what Noel does next but he's done pretty good so far. it may not be a huge rocker and it may not have Liam Gallagher snarling all over it but the fact that i'm still singing along with it despite me having listened to it for nearly an hour non stop- THAT reminds me more of Oasis than anything else.

As is always with Dave Sardy there are some nice things BURIED in the mix. There's a nice piano riff and accompaniment playing during some bits in the interludes that sounds great.

Wow, I love this song. I love the lyrics, the whole feel of the song, think its a great first single. Love how it has the Importance Of Being Idle feel, as I love that song. Just pure gold coming from Noel, really is a great tune.

First impressions:
Had a total cringe over the first lyrics (High tide, summer in the city the kids are looking pretty, but isn't it a pity) which I think are possibly up there with some of Noel's worst ever, but the rest is much better. Sounds a lot like TIOBI obviously and also pinches from 'Lost & Found' by Elliott Smith but in that kind of cheeky way that Noel can get away with. Would fit on DBTT and reminds me of Beady Eye a bit production wise in that it sounds kind of fun and there's a lightness to it. Doesn't blow me away and sounds more like an album track than (particularly a first) single. Solid but was hoping for something with a bit more a 'wow' factor.

It's ok on first listen, I'm expecting it to grow over the next listens.Bring the light definbitely has more punch imo and it's not as catchy as the roller. And hardly worth staying up for, wich I'm glad that I did not.

Being a fan of Noel's, i couldn't wait to hear it. sure, the song is just an ok song and lacks that wow factor but let's not act like it's downright bad.
