I respect them and they are quite obviously a good band (hence their success) and they have a few good tunes. However, the thing that always bugged me about them is that their fans always slagged Oasis for being 'neanderthal, shit lyrics, no progression' and the like. Okay I'll agree with the progression bit (but then again Oasis are a 'rock' band, but whatever), but as for the shit lyrics part that pro-Blur people throw at Oasis?? Have you heard Tracey Jack?? Song 2?? Girls & Boys?? My god a drunk four year old could have written those lyrics. |

Im not hating on Blur because Liam and Noel hate them seriously. I wasn't even old enough to know what a Cigarette and/or Alcohol was back then, I just think Damon Albarn is hugely over rated (Blur are alright, Gorillaz slightly less than alright and that other project he did was just a big NO) and Alex James has no right to even be well known anymore. He gave up music to make cheese. What sort of musician/"rock star" does that? But yeah i have no major issue with Blur, just that they are quite a bit over rated. I think their battle with Oasis helped their career quite a bit. Obviously I was a kid then though so I dunno I am willing to be corrected
