I do hear some similarities in the melody throughout the verses I suppose; however, Noel's vocal delivery turns it into an entirely different song (for the better).

Also, regarding Mad World, I prefer the original (Tears for Fears).

Well they've got me feeling suicidal anyway. Such a boring/crap/depressing song. Even the music video is bad! I doubt Everybody's On The Run will make me feel this way.
