NM's cover is brutal! The whole loan born a liar" slapped on the cover is the last straw for me. These two are making it embarrassing to be a fan. Give it up already cuz its becoming extremely annoying, hurting and very childish. Brutal nme cover and another sad and embarrassing day to be a gallagher fan.

I totally agree with you. It is an embarrassment to be a fan, not just because of the NME but ever since the conference. I expected Liam to be a knob from day one since the split but Noel is just as bad and I never expected that.
Two complete utter dickheads to be honest. It's great in one way and one way only in that we get more music but it's not the same because the band we all loved is gone because these two cabbages can't get along.

i think it's highly entertaining and i expect nothing less from the two of them. did anyone really think this wouldn't happen?
and honestly, it'd be weird and wreak of guiltiness if Noel didn't say something or whatever. and that's not to cast speculation, blame, takes sides or whatever. i couldn't really care less about the whole situation but it is entertaining.

They're not dickheads ffs, they're brothers. And no one outside of them can really apprciate the feelings involved. Don't get mad becasue thats the quote the NME chose to put on there front page.

I have complained in the past about the soap opera etc but ffs don't be so bloody melodramatic. What question is going to be put to each brother directly after the run of the mill music questions? What happened between you both?, why did you split up? Yes they will use it to their advantage, who wouldn't.
It's borderline stalker time the way some people carry on.

Noel is just answering questions. He's not going out of his way to bring Liam into it. He's just brutally honest.
Plus, this interview was done the same day of the official press conference, so the Liam discussion was still ripe.

Sad to be a fan because the two are childish, annoying and bickering brothers?
Where have you been the last 17 years?

They don't like each other, we get it. Slagging each other off in every opportunity is getting tiresome. And no, it's not 'good publicity' when everyone -including the fans- is sick of it, it's actually quite off-putting.

How does this guarantee them selling more records?
Yes they're getting more media coverage but it's not really good coverage is it. The interviews we read is mostly about their relationship and the split of the band. I know people who hate the sight of the Gallaghers and have done for years. Their personalities meant nothing to me as it was always their music but most people hate them for they way they acted and because of this they sold less records. This petty shite doesn't really help them. People will be laughing at them ina "those two at it again" kinda way. This does not help either of them because it is not news.

Nothing gurantees them selling records, the publicity will just help it, more so in Noels case in my opinion, the reason i believe that is that first and foremost he is gonna have the tunes, which to be fair BDI just dont have, the word "solid" to decribe their songs gets banded around here quite alot and i think thats a compliment (im not a BDI troll i quite like 4 of their tunes)
And another reason is that when it comes to publicity - even though alot of peoples initial reaction as you say is along the lines of "not them two at it again etc" but from that you are more likely to get the casual fan also say "i much prefer the older one though, the one that wrote all the songs etc" i come accross that connotation alot day to day at the moment, and i think that alot of the casual / non fans that know nothing about Noels solo project will hear about it alongside a spat story and actually buy it themselves due to his songwriting credibility and generally more appreciated personality

I think BDI have proved that they would sell more in Oasis than by staging solo spats. I don't believe that is what is going on.
Honestly, Noel wasn't uncomplementary about Liam or even Andy in the NME story except in the quote on the cover.

It's NEW Music Express' cover brainiacs, not NOEL's Monthly Expression.
Seeing the guy's said nary a word in two years, I think the "this is getting old" schtick is beyond over board.
I for one seriously doubt Noel will spend much more energy even talking about it and we'll likely see some pretty curt answers to the media hounds unless Liam ends up becomigly increasingly childish.
Everyone here with brothers and/or sisters knows how difficult it can be to just "zip it" when the other gets the last word in...now imagine it getting played out in the press to millions.
Much easier said than done.

I think it's entertaining, not pathetic. If it weren't for the publicity and the stories about the brothers not getting along, I wouldn't have gone out of my way to properly listen to Oasis

Noel wants to move on. I'm pretty sure in the NME interview he did the press conference not only to announce his solo albums but to address the break up of Oasis. He knew the press would be dying to hear his side so he tried to just get it out of the way so he won't be asked so much about it but I doubt that will work.
Their brothers though they can do whatever they want I could careless. Hopefully this raises both of their musical games.
