Awhile ago I asked what BDIs best bside was and WOMR was if I remember number 1 and someone said it was one of their already Classic Tunes, so I'm just wondering if anyone else thinks Beady Eye have any classic tunes. ;D

Short answer: No
Long Answer: Fuck no.
All solid, no classics though.

The Roller is the closest thing to a classic Beady Eye tune. That's it.

In terms of popularity, I would agree with The Roller. It'll definitely be in their setlist for years to come. I think In The Bubble With A Bullet could be up there once it's been released

As far as the general public go I dont think they are successful enough to have any classics, for the fans I imagine that Wigwam, The Roller, Four Letter Word and The Beat Goes on have the chance to become fan classics. However it's really hard to say......one persons classic is another's shitbag of a song lol.

.one persons classic is another's shitbag of a song lol. That means it isn't really a classic. For example, nobody except a small small minority of people would dare call Live Forever or Don't Look Back In Anger a shitbag of a song.

They've got BDI classics.
But no authentic proper classics in the broader use of the term.

The term 'BDI classics' just sounds ridiculous to me.
Obviously every band has their own 'classics' in relation to themselves. It's a meaningless term.

For example, nobody except a small small minority of people would dare call Live Forever or Don't Look Back In Anger a shitbag of a song. Shitbag was a poor choice of words, I was trying to get across that for me a "classic" is something only individuals can judge. And I take your point that very few would call the two tunes in question "shitbags" however there are lots of people that would argue that oasis had no "classics" and just ripped of The Beatles. Now to me on most on this board that is rubbish but they back up my point of a classic all being down to the individual.

A classic is a song that will stand the test of time - ala Wonderwall, Live Forever, DLBIA, etc etc.
While all solid tunes, DGSS will be forgotten within the decade, if not a lot sooner. (In fact, most people don't even know their tunes, so their music is already at a disadvantage when it comes to talking about classics....)

We should talk about fan favorites, not classic, when discussing Beady Eye
But then again, I probably never even heard the whole album. Heard some of the supposed highlights and didn't find them all that good.

the albums only been out for a little under 5 months, its way too early to establish classics and what not

Yeah but seriously...do you think 15 years down the line kids who first pick up a guitar will be singing 'The Roller' like the way they do Wonderwall today? Not a chance.

Four Letter Word - a ballsy, in your face rocker that will go down in history as one of those classic album openers in the vein of Rock'n'Roll Star or I Wanna Be Adored.
Millionaire - in my opinion, this song will go down as a really under-rated single. I tried to persuade LAG to publicise this song a bit more, since the lyrics will mean it should be regarded as a classic. John Lennon would struggle to write a better song.
The Roller - a classic, pure and simple. In twenty years, people will want it playing at their funerals and that is for one reason only - it's perfection. All the haters might say it's a copy of Instant Karma, but that's complete bull. It's like chalk and cheese. The only thing they have in common is that they're both classics.
Beatles and Stones - "I'm gonna stand the test of time, like Beatles and Stones", as you will be aware, is sung fantastically by Liam. And I think this song is going to stand the test of time like the aforementioned bands. It has the relentless energy that mean it will be played in nightclubs for many, many years where kids and adults alike will bellow to no-one in particular "I'm not doing what I'm told!".
Wind Up Dream - it's a classic in the sense that one could imagine it was done by the Beatles during the "Hey Bulldog!" era. LAG have done a really good job with this song in creating a classic that the Fab Four would be proud of, but never veering towards plagiarism.
Bring the Light - my personal favourite from the album, this song sticks a defiant two fingers up at anyone who dares to question the originality of Beady Eye. Who would ever dream of making a song like this? It gives a subtle nod to Jerry Lee Lewis and Serge Gainsbourg, but, at the same time, creates a classic that will never, ever be forgotten. Take a bow, lads.
For Anyone - this beauty brought a tear to my eye the first time I heard it. You cannot deny the harrowing vulnerability is completely genuine, and the innocence in Liam's voice reflects the pain he has felt in life. If Beady Eye had an answer to "Instant Karma" it's definitely For Anyone - a true classic in every sense of the word.
Kill for a Dream - trust me, in twenty years time, there will be a legion of teenage boys in their bedrooms learning to strum along to this gem. Andy Bell proved - when crafting this classic - that he has the talent that millions of guitarists wished they had. The lyrics tell the true story of the split, I hope everyone picked that up.
PART 2 COMING SOON!!!!

The Roller will be a classic for me, I think. Since it was the first single, and because it is so happy and positive.
And songs like Four Letter Word, The Beat Goes On and The Morning Son will probably feel as classics as well in the future, since they are touching the recent Oasis split.

It's interesting to me that no one brought up Three Ring Circus. It's definitely got the most anthemic chorus of the record...Love cranking that tune while going for a drive.
