From Noel's comments earlier today, I got the impression that he actually disliked Andy; the comment about Andy looking at his shoes and doing nothing while he fought with Liam, and the fact that he referred to Andy and Liam as "the other two" who he wasn't still in touch with. Was quite surprised by that, as I'd never really have guessed until now. Obviously he was always closer to Gem, who was his choice to join the band, but wouldn't have guessed he had beef with Andy. Thoughts?

If I was in a band with someone for 10 YEARS and he was swinging a guitar around and generally acting like a c*nt, I'd call him on it.
I wouldn't just sit there and let someone else WHO I'D BEEN IN A BAND WITH FOR 10 YEARS take all the abuse.
Distinct lack of character. (but we knew that anyway).

Take it with a pinch of salt, and all, but I did lose a lot of respect for Andy today. Hopefully something is made of it and they make up. Noel did refer to Gem and Chris as his 'remaining' friends [or something like that] in Beady Eye suggesting that he wasn't on great terms with him.
We did all know that it was Andy, though.

It could just be like the guigsy situation, where they don't really have a relationship because one of the has no discernable personality

Andy said on Alan Carr the other night he hasn't spoken to Noel since that night so it kind of adds up. Gem said he has done a few times

I don't think Noel has ever liked Andy that much. I picked up on it years ago.

Maybe cos he thought Andy might add something to the band rather than stand there boredly doing shit all for ten years.

I just think Andy is a bit more introvert than Gem, so probably was less close with Noel. Gem seems more like the friendly guy who would talk to everyone, so it's more natural than Noel stayed more in touch with him. He just got a bit more annoyed with Andy as he probably hardly ever speaks up and on that occasion Noel got even more annoyed for that, even if Gem did exactly the same that night. Perhaps Gem being more talkative makes a better impression on Noel. That's how I see it.

From what I gather...the difference between Andy and Gem on the day of the split is that at least Gem had the decency to at least talk to Noel about it afterwards, while Andy did nothing. I'm sure that pissed Noel off.
Sometimes Andy is a bit too passive for his own good.

It's because The Beat Goes On is better than The Masterplan

I remember an interview with Noel before the split where he said he wasn't particularly close to Andy and still didn't know much about him after all this time.
Its hard to judge Andy because he is so dull and we don't know anything about his personality. I think we've all been in the position where two massive personalities clash and you don't have the mental strength to get involved - I know I have anyway. But you can certainly understand Noel's viewpoint. Its difficult to comment without knowing Noel and Andy's relationship in Oasis.

Its difficult to comment without knowing Noel and Andy's relationship in Oasis. Yeah, that's the main point, I think. We don't know the guys, so it's easy to speculate and support one point of view or the other.

Well obviously he does care about him much now if he hasn't reached out in years. At best he's neutral but most likely negative.

Hi there i don't think anybody is blaming him, I have always liked him better than Gem actually. Personally I was trying to think how Noel would have seen him from his point of view. From the point of view of oasis he's no more responsible than the rest of the band I think.

Take it with a pinch of salt, and all, but I did lose a lot of respect for Andy today. I did lose a lot of respect for Andy also when he started,in my opinion,to act a bit like Noel now that he plays guitar in Beady Eye.I also think that in Four Letter Word the state of the relationship between the two is quite clear.

It is kind of sad because to me, Andy Bell is by far the best songwriter in BDI.

Noel is obviously pissed off with him, he referred to Andy & Liam as them two and said his remaining FRIENDS in the band are Gem & Sharrock. But I think it was just a series of events that may have lead to this, a few things that spring to mind here....
Wasn't it Liam who suggested they get Andy Bell to come and play bass instead of joining Gay Dad, so maybe Noel was after somebody else. Andy was always very close with Liam, especially in later years as there wives are now close too. This may subconsciously mean that Noel was less distant to Andy if he was to Liam.
I just generally think that they didnt have a lot in common though, he wasn't into football so couldn't talk about that. He spent most of the time in Sweden and just played bass in the studio and on tours so had little contact with Noel.
Also afterwards, Liam and Andy holidayed together, that to Noel could have been construed that the pair were sort of rubbing his face in it. So I think that Noel never hated Andy but a few things meant they were never close and so it was easy to take offence when he never spoke up during 'that night'.

I picked up on it as well. There's an interview somewhere where Noel slags off Andy about how he 'doesn't do anything' when they gig. It's also evident when Noel and Gem do interviews together and Liam and Andy do them together. It isn't that they don't get on and that Noel and Andy hated each other rather than Noel and Liam, because that is fucking rubbish. It is simply that Noel and Andy, probably didn't have a relationship. Does that surprise you? It doesn't, me!

I have a lot respect for Andy. The guy kept his mouth shut about it, what's wrong with that? For me Noel insulted him today when he didn't have to. Andy has never said a bad word [in public] about Noel. How can anyone lose respect for Andy in this case.
And another thing, anyone who can write songs like TUTS, FLW, WOMR, KFAD and TBGO I've a lot of respect for.

Noel didn't insult him, he expressed his view on what happened, completely justified. The fact that Andy "never said a bad word in public about Noel" has got nothing to do with all this.
