I like it, but it feels directionless.

I like it, but it feels directionless. I think it's good for what it is. It is somewhat directionless. For a b-side it's pretty good, but on an album it's only decent. It's a very incomplete track for me (like much of the stuff on DGSS). It begins with a great riff, yet they don't do anything with that riff. They just go into an okay verse. I feel like they wasted that riff, even though that riff makes it a better song than what it actually is. Weird thing is that in what is basically a 3 minute song, I feel like I'm listening to three separate songs (the riff, the verses, the outro). It just doesn't seem very cohesive to me, and it falls short of what it could have been. Really good for a b-side, but as a song in general it's only decent. imo

The outro chanting of "We do what we want" especially doesn't really fit in all that well. They should have also developed that riff into a guitar solo later in the song, as well. I agree, it's a solid b-side, but it's found lacking as it goes on.

It was the only Alternative Rock channel left in Chicago and it just died on Thursday. So it's my salute to them. They gave birth to bands like Wilco and The Smashing Pumpkins, and for a long time we're the only Chicago station that regularly played Oasis.

Kind of feel short changed, I really love the vibe but it just lacks something extra so maybe another verse or a piano solo would have been nice.
I think that they have nailed the instrumentals though, they just need to work on structure and lyrics here and there. We are on the right path for a really good quality and unique album.

Y100 in Philly went the same way circa 2005, replaced by like the 6th rap station in the area. But Radio 104.5 seems to have taken it's place. That being said, I almost never listen to the radio these days.

But it does suck to see a station that has so much history go away.

ahahahaha, drunk radio is always brilliant. All the DJ's and former DJ's showed up throughout the day to say good-bye, and they all got drunk in the studio. Just dropping F-bombs the whole day. Brilliant day to listen to radio. Fitting that Chris Payne closed it out. He put some pretty good Chicago acts on the map. The first song that station ever played was the Cure's Friday I'm In Love, and it was their last. Thanks Idledreamer. I was hoping there was a copy of this somewhere. k+

Very sad to hear that another Rock/Alternative music radio station is going under. The New York area recently lost two of the only rock stations around. Q106.3 in New Jersey which always played a ton of Oasis went under last summer I believe and now just this week it was announced New York City will be without RXP 101.9. Just sad really. New York now only has 104.3 and that is tunes from the 60s to 90s. Nothing current. Such a joke New York City can't provide more. Gotta rely more and more on blogs these days.

Yeah, I think the same group that bought up Q101, also bought up 101.9. I think it's Merlin. They got two Rock stations in Chicago, Q101 & The Loop (I think they're flipping the format on the Loop too), and they got RXP in New York. So in two consecutive weeks, Chicago will lose two major Rock/Alt. Station.

Just a sad state of affairs that two major US markets are losing rock n roll for the time being. That does not sit right with me. Hopefully something new will spring up in both markets soon. I couldn't imagine rock dying out on the radio but that seems to be the trend sweeping America.
I read that RXP 101.9 is going to be a news station that directed at soccer moms. That makes me sick.

Who wrote this song? It was Gem? that song screams Liam-style writing, it's got balls. if it's not Liam's it's Gems, i bet. it doesn't really remind me of Andy's writing style, his songs are more reserved. i love you all, God bless.
