Dam it, it should have been saved for DGSS, than being a merely bonus disc song.
When Liam wants to write an amazing song, no one can stop our kid.
Polemic.

You have spoken truth mate. This song is WAY better then DGSS, because it still has all the balls of an Oasis tune. I think people are too quick to assume that because Liam, Gem, or Andy penned a tune that Noel had no say in the recording of it. He most certainly did, and this song is proof of that. Brilliant!

I think you can see a lot of Noel's figure prints on many of their songs. Especially when I see BWTB and IOT. Noel's influence was felt throughout almost all the post-2000 songs. Sometimes that was a good thing, and sometimes that was bad thing. This time it was a good thing.

The ending is obnoxiously repetitive and keeps me from ever listening to the song. A bummer, really, cos I like all the other parts of the song.

I wouldn't say that it's way better than any song on DGSS, but it's defenitely up there. This song would've made the album even better. Same goes for IBIA. I like that song more than B&S or WUD or SOTEOTN. Or it would've made one hell of a b-side.
Don't get why those songs weren't used as b-sides on TSOTL for examplee instead of those stupid remixes. Maybe a single with 2 b-sides would've made it to number one...

BWTB and IBIA is alot better than most of the songs on DOYS too. especially BWTB, its better than the turning, high horse, nature of reality, aint got nothin, to be where there's life.. although noel is a genius, he was pretty retarded when it came to picking tracklists either that or he didn't want to be out-shone

I don't think it's better than The Turning. The Turning is pretty great in my books.

Yep, it's one of their best post-2000 imho, I think it's a bit underrated here.
But you're right to say that those 2 songs could've made the second part of DOYS much, much better. Really such a shame; the first part of DOYS is so great, but the second part ruins it for me. Those 2 songs could've "saved" the album. (Not that DOYS is really that bad, but still..)

The thing is that both BWTB and IBIA don't have that blues psych sound of DOYS, it would feel out of place, IBIA is more DBTT sound, but BWTB is more SOTSOG kind with that choir and somber sound.

I've always thought that BWTB should close DOYS instead of SO. Great tune.

Sorry but I disagree. It has potential but lacks punch. It is by no means terrible though.

I don't think it's better than The Turning. The Turning is pretty great in my books. Agreed. I think The Turning is one of the best post-2000 Oasis songs. Boy With The Blues is a typical Liam tune. It uses the same pattern of melody in AGN and BAS, only extended to 4 minutes. Above average b-side for me.

Noel should have released it as a single in early 2006, as it was planned.

Here
Don't really like this version much more or less, but BWTB would've been ace on DGSS, made in the same way as Wigwam. And live!
I hope this is what Liam means with "epic tunes" in advance of the 2nd album.

Yea, now that I listen to it, I think is a great tune. Hope does get its chance in Beady Eye live shows.

I don't think it's better than The Turning. The Turning is pretty great in my books. The Turning is epic. One of the best oasis songs full stop. The drums, the bass, the guitar...and Liam's vocal. Wow. Breathtaking.

I really don't get the love for this song. I like the verses quite a bit, but the chorus doesn't do it for me.
The Turning is one of my absolute favorites though.

I think that Noel didn't put it on DOYS because of IOT, he may didn't like the ideia os two slow songs by Liam on the album.

one of liams bests and better than anything on DGSS. i can hear noels influence on it which is kind of the problem of DGSS. noels influence is missing. he has got the skills to make a song better.
i don't think BWTB would had been as good as now without noel

BWTB had potential to be a really good song, but its just too repetitive for me. I'll take Wigwam over it any day of the week.
