Velociraptor will be an even bigger hit than Fire - it's so instant
That song is a game changer - could wake Radio 1 and the like back up to rock again, a lot of bands are getting on the playlist again now

Don't Sit Down.... is on the A Playlist on Radio 1 so thats getting a bit, shame they did the double release like Beady Eye otherwise that may have got into Top 15 or Top 10 maybe.
One thing I havent heard for a while until now is that people like Fearne Cotton are mentioning bands like Kasabian rather than just Zane Lowe who specialises in rock on the show, hopefully Switchblade Smile will get a hell of a lot of airplay and propel rock back into the limelight.
Kasabian have potential now to be the biggest group in the UK and try and get close to Oasis, in terms of #1 albums, Top 10 singles and big tours.

TBH, I think Kasabian can be the biggest band ever! Even Ferne Cotton said its immense! I thought I couldn't love a band more when they released WRPLA... BUT AFTER THIS!? I am head-over-hills in love!

Definitely not gonna top The Beatles or Oasis, The Stones, The Who etc. They will struggle to be the best in the world now as they havent cracked America, but the UK well thats theres for the taking.

I'm glad they haven't cracked America because for them to do that they would have to go all 'Use Somebody' on us

Well, they're my teenage band, and I'll be enthusiastic about them! I think they could crack America with this album, it's sounding more grungy and I heard there's a tour planned for the US, so who knows?

switchblade smile sounds really good, however i remember hearing fire live and it sounded great but then heard the studio version and it was a bit underwhelming.
hopefully switcblade smile studio stands up to the live version.

I couldn't sleep last night because I had the Velociraptor chorus going through my head Veloci-VelociRAPTOR!! SAME! I woke up sining it, too... But I don't think I've heard anyone say they don't like it yet... the only things that are split between people are "which one is better?" and "how big is this album going to make them!?"

Kasabian are getting into the Mainstream... 2) Well, as I've said before, Kasabian are the band of my teenage years (I'm 17), and I could never see a fault in them... Therefore, I'll always believe that they'll always be the best thing that ever happened to the world

Does anyone know what the album is going to sound like - i.e. general themes, musical direction what have you? I can't get an idea from the live performances because the quality isn't great.

Well nobody has a clear idea but from these 2 tunes, then I'd say that they were going back to their roots with some very hard punk rock with a some snyths and weird sound effects. The quality of writing and playing has increased as well though so maybe 1st album blended with 3rd album. Don't take my word for it but its a guess. This extract quotes what Q Magazine said about the record not so long ago.... westrydersilverbullet.blogspot.com/2011/04/in-studio-kasabian.html

I don't think that story is quite right... Shelter From The Storm, Neon Noon, Goodbye Kiss, I Hear Voices, Switchblade Smile, Velociraptor, Man Of Simple Pleasures, Green Fairy 8 songs? And that's the only place I've heard tracks 1 and 7... and I can't see TGF being on there... It's so dull and was made for a film... it's a boring song... I really can't see that fitting into an album with VR and SS... It might be a b-side though

And Serge has said that The Green Fairy is the greatest song he has ever written. And from hearing it for myself multiple times, I tend to agree with him. That's a special special track.
