It's funny everyone is changing their minds about Bigun now it's pretty certain he's the real Paul Ashbee.

Where are the demos? I honestly don't care if Bigun is the real deal or not, I just want to hear the songs.

It's a good read. Very insightful look into their early years. Take it with an open mind unlike some of the Noel fanboys in this thread!

Hello everybody, BigUn 'ere.
I'm after a favour. I will shortly be going to America (New York) to help Tony launch the book (this was upon my own very firm insistence!!). I was wondering if there was any member out there that could put me up for a couple of nights?? I am house trained and can speak American as well as I speak English. The trip is in March/April. Hope you can help!!
Also in case you didn't know Tony is being interviewed for another Oasis website - Stopcryingyourheartout.com. You can send him questions if anyone is interested!! Why don't all the non believers out there ask him why Noel hasn't denied any of the stories in the book?? I'm sure you'll get an interesting answer.
Hope all is well in Foreverland, BigUn.
ps. Now that I read my last post it seems childish!! So sorry to GDForever for over reacting.

Steer clear of the Bronx, mate: also Queens: the local gangs don't take too kindly to unfamiliar Limeys. And they don't piss about in order to make a point: read: 'blow yo brains out for looking at me wrong' in some of the more extreme cases.
Do visit Long Island though: some of the gals there ask the blokes out if they fancy them, and they don't wear bras on a first date [at least not in summertime].
Some of the lasses from there do sink pints, though. So take out plenty of bucks .
It should pay dividends.

I have the hardcover version (halfway through!) But the blue cover looks horrid... I took the paper cover off cause it would damage in my bag but it seems like some kind off bible i'm reading.. and if its one thing I DON'T want is people thinking I'm reading the bible.. I bought tony's book cause it's non-fiction...

i agree about the bronx, unless you visit riverdale. that's a different story. if you're going during baseball season, yankee stadium is another exception.
queens is not as bad as bdiplayer is making it out to be. there are some really cool neighborhoods, but if you really want to go outside of manhattan, i suggest going to brooklyn. it's where all the young people who can't afford manhattan live now. all the music moved outside of manhattan to brooklyn, and especially bensonhurst (a really hip neighborhood right across the east river).
long island sucks. it's pretty, but unless you're going to montauk, long beach or the hamptons, there's not much to do there. bdiplayer is wrong about long island girls, by the way. they're trashy and a lot of them are either rich and spoiled or jersey shore wannabes. (either way, you'll hear the most annoying accents you'll hear in new york.)
one thing about gangs and all that-- you're asking for trouble if you make eye contact with the wrong people, but the number one thing is using common sense. new york is the safest large city in the world-- take advantage of that. just be smart about it. most new yorkers are friendly and happy to give you directions, unless they have somewhere to be. in fact, they pride themselves on their knowledge of the "best" ways to get to where you need to.
bigun, if you have any questions about new york, send me a pm and i'd be more than happy to help you out. while i can't hook you up with a place to crash, i can certainly help you find a hotel. (some hotels are very cheap here, but it's just knowing which ones to go to.)

Thanks for all your advice re the dangers of New York. Maybe it's not a good place for a large and brash individual with too much to say for himself!
Should hopefully have that tape converted and on the site in the next few days.

Read the book, pretty good account of the beginning of the band.
I didn't realise Tony had such problems with Guigs, that was a surprise to read.
BigUn... You sound a right laugh after reading the book, that was some way to put a fire out by the way!

I'm glad to see all the anti-Tony rubbish has calmed right down, and that people are actually reading & enjoying the book as I did. Without being pro or anti any band member, it does make a lot sense of what subsequently happened within the band. For instance, Tony has said numerous times that he didn't witness any of the infamous Noel/Liam battles - probably because they didn't start until after Noel started chipping away at the structure of "his" band. If the book is anything to go by and Noel sacked Tony pretty much without consulting Liam or Bonehead this would explain why we suddenly had the "wibbling rivalry" right to the fore just as the bands popularity went stratospheric.

Look at this letter which Tony sent to Liam and Noel after Bonehead and Guigsy left the band. I mean, if Noel did that horrible things to him, why would he asked to join the band again? Did he need money that much? Of course, there are no proofs of the letter being real but in the article sais the letter was published in the NME a few months ago and that Creation confirmed it was real. burnagebyburnage.blogspot.com/2011/01/la-carta-que-envio-mccarroll-liam-y.html

I think you might find that there is a touch of sarcasm about this letter and it is not intended to be aken seriously!! Tony's interview on 'stopcryingyourheartout.com' should be posted in the next couple of days. Seems he kerfuffle surrounding he demo I'm trying to post gets a mention! Who asked the question though? Hope each and every one of you has a heart full of hope and happiness, BigUn.

Just got done with reading the book. funniest shit I've read in a looong time. Tony, for what its worth, you're a decent guy for sticking up for yourself. The stories, my god are absolute COMEDY! Love all the Liam bits, he seems like a genuine guy, and although he's got his millions, he still seems REAL. This book goes right up there with Chris Hutton's book, "Don't Look Back In Anger". Now if Whitey could pen a book as well. Anyone know if Tony is going to be doing a few State side book signings?

Shit, i sent in some questions but didnt ask about him asking to be the bassist when guigs left. Although i did read before that he offered his services so i imagine its genuine, or even if the actual letter isnt the sentiment is
