Beady Eye will release their second single ‘Millionaire’ on 2nd May 2011. The track is taken from their recently released debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ which entered the UK charts at No. 3 and has subsequently gone gold. The album has charted around the world, including No.1 in Japan.
‘Millionaire’ will be available digitally and as a 7” single with ‘Man Of Misery’ (already a live favourite) as the b-side. A limited edition numbered 7” and collectors box to store the vinyl singles released so far will also be available exclusively via the band's store. A standard version of the 7" will be available through select retailers.
The video for ‘Millionaire’ was shot in Spain whilst the band were on tour and also features exclusive live footage from the dates.Great news about the collectors box though

Why on earth won't they release a physical single on CD? I reckon the roller would've done a lot better if they'd released the track as a download, vinyl AND CD at the same time. Same goes for 'millionaire'...

Same goes for 'millionaire'... Yeah, I don't get either. I could kinda get it when it was early and they didn't know what the reception from the fans would be like, but now they know the album charted pretty high in some places and tour is selling well. Why only release a vinyl?

Don't really mind there not being a new b-side. We've gotten a lot of music and some pretty good, solid songs. Songs that we probably would not have gotten if we had waited for a new Oasis album. I'm content. They've done their jobs. I don't mind there not being a new b-side. They've released enough in my opinion.

B-Sides have been better than they've been for a good number of years: Sons of the Stage World Outside My Room Two of a Kind Man of Misery All strong IMO - maybe with the exception of TOAK which is average.

In all honesty, I really couldn't care less what they release as a single, nor how, because they didn't record any hits. I'm enjoying the album, so the singles are irrelevant to me.

If there was a CD version I'd probably get it even though it has no new b-side. The fact that they just stick to vinyl and digital releases really sucks. What would the downside to releasing a CD be?

I agree, I'd get a CD import...but a vinyl would basically be like wall hanging for me.
Hope Noel does CD singles...

The fact nobody whatsoever buys them, but it costs to distribute them. They aren't cost effective in any way.

For me it's quite the opposite. I don't buy CD singles, never did.. But I've bought all the vinyl singles from BE so far and have quite a few other vinyl singles from the Beatles. A vinyl is so much more fun to play. And funny you say 'a vinyl would basically be like wall hanging for me' cause that's literally what my Beady Eye vinyls are doing right now, and it looks awesome

I don't think CD's sell anymore really in the UK, digital releases are the way everyone is going with the vinyls being a novelty. They look nice and are short limited edition release runs so they sell well.
I really cant see Beady Eye doing CD's and I really dont blame them, dead market in my eyes.

Bring The Light, Four Letter, The Roller UK, The Roller German (currently making its way to the US via a colleague in our German office!), and now Millionaire!

I found interesting that at 3.00 - 3.30 Liam talks to Andy about Millionaire during the interview break. Liam seems to love it

what's the point of buying a CD Single? who the fuck releases singles on CD formats anyway? i mean, i kind of get what the band is doing with the vinyls but it's not the same like it is with albums. with singles most artists just released the thing digitally and that's it.

Yeah, I know it's a much bigger deal in Britain than in the States... but I love the vinyl.
