An upsell is just selling more then you need too, in this case it's a copy of the Different Gear, Still Speeding CD on top of your ticket.

I really hope I can get my Toronto tickets Friday since Today's pre sale sold out in seconds and I don't own an AmEx. If anything, they should add a second date here, altho I would like to go to the first show.

did anyone else who got tickets for the NYC show get something other then GA? When I bought the tickets it told me I was buying GA floor then i just looked through my history and it shows a row and seats instead of GA. Anyone else see this? webster hall is standing room only. (meaning, general admission.)

Every show that you buy off of Ticketmaster, regardless if its GA or not, will have numbers in those slots. Its just allotment numbers if its not a seated gig. Webster Hall is general admission/standing room only. Capacity is only 1400. I worked for Ticketmaster during university and had to answer that question every damn time a show went onsale, even at small ass clubs.

thats right, they put row and seat numbers even if its a GA show. Every non seated ticket i have bought (for many many shows) have all had row and seat numbers.... even when oasis played the infamous V-Fest in Toronto in 08, they had row and seat numbers. and the gig took place on a field.

so the internet presale, and the AMEX presales both sold out, pretty impressive, hoping they add a Friday night show as that would be soooooo much easier for me to go to than the thursday night one...

and at Stubhub tonight, the scalpers are looking for $79/ticket at the minimum.........I see that true fans got tickets during the pre-sale Scalpers will always get tickets. There is no way to stop it. Scalpers can pose as fans even when artists set up direct sales. Ticket limits dont help because scalpers are typically networked with bunches of people purchasing for the company. The only real way to stop scalping is to make it illegal, but even in that regard, its a state law and some states dont have the law on the books. What is surprising is there are 129 (!) tickets already on Stubhub for the NYC show. Thats quite a bit considering the general is tomorrow. In comparison, when Fleet Foxes put their two shows onsale last month, there only 15 tickets up there after the presale. I imagine the AMEX presale added to this a bit as yesterday was pretty much a clusterfuck with the pw issue and not everyone knowing it. With only 1400 capacity, you figure at least off the top 5-10% (140) for eventual promotions and guestlists, probably 20% (280) for the first presale and I believe its 20% (280) for Amex allotment. This is another reason why presales are fucking stupid. If my #s are correct, thats more than 500 tickets spoken for and a pretty high percentage of tickets already on the second hand market.

Ahhh, this is annoying. Missed out on the presale because of the password thing, don't have AmEx, and don't think I'll be around a computer at exactly 10am tomorrow to get tickets, as I'm at work (like most people). Frustrating.

Jenny - unfortunately not since I'm shooting a wedding the day of the Chicago gig Ianbrown21 - watch it, I'm a married woman. Too bad about the Chicago But drinks definitely, well have to see if there is a line...I am infamous about queuing up early! Anyways looks like our husbands will get on well Good! Because I really want to line-up early for the NY show and get as close as possible. I don't usually bother, but for a Gallagher, yes.

You're seriously considering wasting a day in the city to stand in front of Webster Hall?

Umm yes. I'll be in town for two days before to do things, it's also not my first time to NYC. And I'm not doing the wait for the Toronto show. It's the smallest gig I will have ever been to with a Gallagher present so I wanna be close! Besides, Jenny will wait with me :-)

Any of you lucky people with tickets have an extra one to sell? Can't spend the $80-$100 they're going for now, but I'll gladly buy you a beer. No cocktails, though.

Sorry Pete, we only have the two.
