look man, I am one of the biggest Oasis/Liam fans out there. I bought the new album the day it came out, i really like the band and all. I thought Liam sounded pretty good in FLW and TMS, however "For Anyone" was painful to listen to, he also struggled at the beginning of SOTS. He didn't hit all the high(they're not even that high to begin with)notes. So, in conclusion i think he was average. look man, we all know he's had worse nights with Oasis but he has also had better ones in recent years. Milan 09 comes to mind. anyways, i think he can do better, and when his voice has been great i've said so on this forum(Radio 1 session). You can't get mad at people just because they're telling like it is. they're just calling like they see it.

Lets see what one of the more 'intelligent' Ipshit fans made it: And that children is a bad advert for inbreeding ;D ^Even if your not a football fan i strongly reccomend watching this as a glimpse of what constitutes as "intelligent life" in Suffolk XD ...Its also one of the funniest videos on youtube

Frankly it's ludicrous to tell people what they can or can't talk about. If the post is relevant to the section, and not a trolling post, it should be allowed to be discussed. If you don't like the topic, simply avoid the thread. How hard is that?

If you don't like the topic, simply avoid the thread. How hard is that? I'm all for debate & discussion bud, but I think some have gone way over the top in critiquing the live vocals of Liam (probably applies to me in defending them to), obviously everyone discussing the topic is a fan right? (otherwise why would you come in here) and would know that live Liam's vocals are all over the shop....great,bad,average or whatever but this has been the case since the start of oasis so I'm intrigued to know why now everyone gets on his back so much for it?....his style of singing and lifestyle are all contributing factors to his vocal delivery. Also it's best to judge from live testimonials not from phone cameras or tv performances as these are never a true reflection of the sound.....remember the Brits performance a few years back? Slated in papers & by public yet i remember jo whiley on radio 1 saying how good they/liam sounded. I take it the majority of people on here are going to a show at some point is possible? I bet you your view of the vocals/show are different to that based off Geoff from droitwichs video from his strawberry/blueberry camera phone......while were on the subject of them, who the hell would pay good money or a gig then go and stand there with there fucking phone in the ir recording it?....get yourself a beer, sing along with your buds & have a good time!!!!

To me it really is as simple as this... The harder Liam pushes his voice to be heard over the band in a live situation.. the worse he sounds, put him in an acoustic situation, or separated from the band (like the Radio 1 sess), the less strain he puts on his voice and better he sounds. The Abbey Road thing was a prime example of that, stick Liam back in front of a drum kit n next to a wall of amps and he starts singin like Kermit the frog again.
Don't get me wrong, I personally thought Liam sounded pretty good at Barrowlands, nowhere near as bad as some Oasis gigs in recent years.

funnily enough, I was watching the Definitely Maybe dvd last night and you realise that Liam's voice ISN''T THAT BAD!
He's always sang with a high volume and even a lot of those early gigs he strains his voice - but that was just it - that's what we liked about his voice in the first place.
that '95-'98 period was definitely his prime, but now isn't too dissimilar to today's standards

If you don't like the music or liams vocals then don't listen....simple really. As I stated in a previous post, seen many a gig through the years varying different bands etc....and there the same....good,bad,average.....seen stones a few times and to be honest jagger can't sing live for shit, Was I bothered by it? No I enjoyed the fucking lot.....iconic rock n roll legends giving everything....imperfections n all......who goes to a rock n roll gig expecting a well oiled, perfect sounding show?.....seen kasabian live to & Tom's vocals range from shit to good but the whole show's were awesome!

Don't get me wrong, I personally thought Liam sounded pretty good at Barrowlands, nowhere near as bad as some Oasis gigs in recent years. A few years ago Noel made a statement that he used to listen to old tapes and he sounded terrible because he was singing for the last person in the room. Then he realized he had a massive PA behind him and his pitch problems went away. Sometimes Liam forgets that he has a PA behind him that can always be louder than everyone and everything else. A big part of the issue may also be stage volume. Perhaps the other guys don't bring their amps down enough. Noel used a bunch of THD attenuators, although that was likely more for his own hearing than Liam's. I've never known Gem or Andy to use those. Granted, they're using much lower wattage amps than Oasis historically did...
