I was on the way to Gatwick Airport in August 2005 to go to Tunisia with my family, and we got a taxi from our house. He had the radio on on the way and The Importance Of Being Idle came on, and I asked my sister who it was because I thought it sounded fucking awesome. She said "I think it's Oasis but I'm not sure". Then Jo Whiley (the DJ) confirmed it was Oasis when the song finished and then When we arrived at Gatwick and had checked in I wandered into HMV and noticed Don't Believe The Truth on the stands for £4.99 and bought it. I went and sat in the departure lounge and put it on my personal CD player (didn't have an iPod back then) and as soon as Turn Up The Sun was 90 seconds in and I had heard "I carry a madness, everywhere I go" I was sold. I was also away from girlfriend at the time an missed her quite a bit and Let There Be Lobe, especially the "just remember I'll be by your side" bit hit me somewhere. When I got back off holiday I proceeded to buy the previous Oasis albums in chronological order and Dig Out Your Soul was the first time I had anticipated an Oasis release and I regret that I hadn't heard of them before. I managed to see them 3 times on that tour (Bournemouth, Millenium Stadium and Wembley Stadium) but they broke up way before I felt like I had had my fill of Oasis ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

For what it's worth, the Lyla video is class. It tells a story, and how cool does the band look? This video is up there with DYKWIM for me. A class act.

The Lyla video appeals more with girls, like Cinderella I think, the girl in the video is even supposed to be Lyla, the name of the song, but the best thing is that Liam and the band all looked boss on the video.

I just watched the Lyla video again (it was about time!) and it's true that the band looks great in it. But even if I can't see why it repulsed me THAT much, I still don't like the video in itslef. I find it a bit cheesy.

My sister told me she was going to see them live at Calgary in 2008, I thought they were some small band or something, I looked them up on the Internet and first listened to Wonderwall, DLBIA, and Live Forever. Later on i was on youtube I seen that they did a cover of My Generation and I listened to that, then TUTS was on the list I listened to that, blew me away, then I think they won me over with THT music video though. Almost 3 years since then, I listen to Oasis day in-day out, have over 1400 Oasis songs alone on my ipod:D almost all their CD singles, some other random CDs. Wish I'd discovered them when I was 3 or something.

it was back in 2009, the day they broke up, I saw an article on some website talking about the split, decided to check out their music, and the rest is history. The song that I was hooked on for a while was Go Let It Out, but DLBIA sold it for me. I was watching my younger brother play soccer and I was listening to it and during the solo and short drum solo of the song he charged down the field and scored. Perfect timing and he celebrated to the chorus! God I love Oasis ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Saw them doing Go Let It Out on Top Of The Pops, my young mind was blown! My dad got a pirated version of SOTSOG (with Fuckin' In The Bushes scribbled over so I couldn't see the 'naughty word') from someone he worked with and I listened to that. A few years later, The Hindu Times came on TOTP as well, which really started my obsession. Got Heathen Chemistry when it came out, bought WTSMG (it took me 10 weeks to save up my pocket money to get it!), never looked back. The song that really properly got me into Oasis would have to be The Hindu Times, oddly enough.

It was a gradual process, i was about 12, so 2001. I knew Wonderwall obviously and liked it. Then i saw Morning Glory on a music ch. and then d\led that, so i had like only 2 Oasis tunes on my PC for ages.
Then i slowly saw more Oasis tunes on music channels, and realised i liked tunes like SMS, LF, DYKWIM, RNRS, SBM. Then i saw Supersonic, and i was like wow. Played that tune to death. Then i read on the net that TM, Whatever and Acquiesce were good tunes... so d\led them, loved them.
Then i just d\led the 1st two albums, so i'm getting into them properly now. Then slowly in the next months, i purchase TM and BHN and then start to look into their B-Sides and realise there's a vast array of fcukin class Oasis tunes...and that's it now i'm officially hooked.
So very much step by step.

In 2002, I was 16 and I was getting into rock. I knew wonderwall and Stand by but from far, but one day I saw all Oasis clip on Tv in a special on Mtv I think. I was blown away by all this greats songs one after another. I remember espacially being bewitched by the wonderwall video for the beauty of the song and the class of the band, the supersonic clip for the same reason an then Gas panic live in wembley, I was stunned by Liam in this video. After watching all those videos I was caught. I've then bought MG, DM, FTM, dl a few others and then bought all their albums. I was pissed cause I've miss them live in late 2002, so I had to wait until 2005 to see them live. It was the greatest gig of my life. And I've seen them5 time since.

I've always been an Oasis fan.... I can't remember a time when I wasn't.... I was born in 1994 (Almost named Liam!), I had DM and WTSMG played around me every day until '97.... I knew all the words to the first two albums before my third birthday in '97.... One of my earliest memories is going to nursery and being asked to sing a nursery rhyme and beginning to sing "Aaaaaahhhhhh shakealong with meeee".... There's also a video of me in my grandparent's house somewhere of me singing Roll With It in a full Liam pose.... Even though I've been an oasis fan for all 17 years of my life, the first Oasis album I bought was DOYS (Mostly because my mum had all the others xD)

When: One night in early June, 1994. Where: My mum and dad's living room. Why: Saw them performing Supersonic and Shakermaker on long defunct Channel 4 show Naked City and never looked back.

In my case, it started late in 2005, when I was getting into music. I used to listen to an old Brazilian rock radio, trying to find songs/bands I'd eventually like, and then I'd try to find more about them. One day, a song started to play, and it was so amazing that I immediately fell in love with that sound - a song called Wonderwall. DBTT had just been released, and Lyla, TIOBI, LTBL and The Masterplan were getting some plays daily on MTV, and I quite liked those songs as well. Moreover, Oasis would be playing in Brazil in March 2006, and there was some buzz around their gig here, because it sold out quite quickly. Then I decided to download all of their singles to see if I would really get into them, and they really caused a great impression. SCYHO, DGA, SBM, Songbird and Supersonic all fell amazing in my ears, but the songs that really knocked me down were Live Forever and LBL. When I listened to those songs, I knew I had found something VERY special. Then I decided to listen to an entire album of Oasis, and decided to listen to DBTT, because it had been recently acclaimed by the critics. And it sounded great in my ears as well. The final blow came when I decided I had to listen to WTSMG, and it absolutely changed my life - for the better.
It's funny because a few times I thought I'd never REALLY get into Oasis. When I first read about the Gallaghers, the things I read about them really annoyed me hahaha (at first I actually switched Noel and Liam HAHA). Ultimately, their songs and their history won me over. BHN didn't strike me at first (I've never been it's biggest fan among Oasis fans, anyway), but as I listened to DM, HC and their B-sides, they won me over forever, and, around early 2008, I was absolutely mad for Oasis. I must say, as well, that the fans of Oasis, their loyalty, their great taste, and their friendship, were also vital for this to happen.

My brother told me to check out this song that he remembered from his childhood (wonderwall) he had heard it in the Rockband video game. It was about 2007 I think. I knew it too, and just had to find out about these guys. Went through the usual, looking at videos online. DLBIA, CS, MG etc, but then I heard Live Forever. The bit where Liam sings, "did you ever feel the pain, in the morning rain, as it soaks you to the bone." I thought to myself, " I have felt the pain in the morning rain as it soaks me to the bone lol. In a seriousness, I was hooked, I never imagined I would find a band that changed everything about me. That made me want to sing, swagger like Liam, and believe in myself. The best way I could describe it was like the first time I fell in love, their music just made everything more exciting.
